Samsung Dissapoints With The Unvealing Of The Galaxy S5
Samsung finally revealed the official specs of the Galaxy S5 during its Unpacked5 event at Mobile World Conference 2014 in Barcelona. After months of speculation and rumors about the next flagship device, here are the official specs of the new GS5.
Unfortunately, none of the predictions for 1440 x 2560 screen resolution, 4GB of RAM and 3000 mAh battery came out to be true. Instead we have a slightly bigger screen, a bit better CPU, 3 megapixel bump in the rear camera along with 4K video and adjustable focus, 200 mAh more battery compared to the Galaxy S4. Also USB has been upgraded to 3.0 and the S5 has gained some weight. Even the shape stays the same as the S4 with less glossy plastic, but still the same old Galaxy design that we have seen over the years.
All in all it seems that Samsung is doing the same thing as Apple with the iPhones. Polish the design a bit, upgrade the specs a bit, but except for the fingerprint reader, heart rate monitor and Android 4.4.2, what is there to make the Galaxy S5 a worthy upgrade over the S4.
If we believe the rumors, the GS5 version presented at Unpacked5, might be the plastic version or the cheaper one like the GT-I9505 was with the GS4, and we should see the better, more powerful Galaxy S5 in June featuring a better CPU, screen resolution and battery as well as metallic body instead of plastic.
And for those who are looking for some eye candy here is the Galaxy S5 wallpaper seen on all those press images.
