Android 4.4 Update for Samsung Galaxy S4, S3, Note 2 and Note 3
While HTC's reaction was fast with their announcement for the Android 4.4 KitKat updates for their top of the line smartphones, Samsung, usually rolling out updates faster, has not said anything about when it will release the update for it's flagship models. Here is why.
Currently Sprint Galaxy S4 owners are getting the Android 4.3 update, AT&T and T-Mobile are due to receive the update till the end of the month (Nov. 13 and 18). The Galaxy Nexus joined the 4.3 club earlier today, but there is no word on updating these devices outside the US.
While Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition users will get the Android 4.4 KitKat update in the next few weeks, for now it seems like they are going to be the only ones getting the 4.4 firmware in near future.
Due to the fact that Samsung is currently rolling out or planning to roll out the 4.3 update on the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 2 till the end of the year, the KitKat update might arrive in the first three months of 2014.
