MegaSound for Android
My problem with MegaSound is that when I get a text notification I get it three (3) times right in a row, everytime. It does increase volume for notifications which works well for the new MOTO series phones that have a notification volume problem that Lenovo won't acknowledge. I have emailed StefMa but they don't respond. MegaSound has the potential to be a great app for all MOTO owners but only if the developer wants to be interactive.
It's annoying how it almost always turns the volume down, and when i turn the volume off it still gives off a low sound. Other then that, it is a good app "when"it works. I also dislike how i can't let an App use its own ringtones at the same time. Using Samsung Galaxy s7 edge
I really like being able to set different notification sounds for different apps! However, since downloading this app I have noticed that my notification sound volume gets turned to silent, regardless of which sound mode (sound, vibrate, silent) I am in. Hope this issue can be fixed!
I loved this application. I used it on all of my Samsung phones and installed it on my family and friends phones. But, it is not stable enough to use on my Droid Turbo 2.???????? So why not just use any of my many Samsung phones you ask. They all have broken glass screens. The Droid doesn't use glass, so it has lasted 13 months. Please help.
Downloaded to silence those apps that make a sound for useless notifications. I don't want to block the notification completely but I want to get rid of the sound alert that is played. Problem is, it blocks the sound but there's no option to block the vibrate so the notification still disturbs me when I'm doing work. Defeats the purpose of installing in the first place. Uninstalled If Devs could fix and add vibration control it would be perfect.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on my Huawei P9. Dispit setting a sound for an app it defaults to the system sound. Am I doing something wrong?
Does what it says, however it still plays the notification when my phone is in do not disturb mode. One of the alerts I have is for my local news. Nothing like a breaking news about a fire at 3am!!
It's all right I guess. I use it to set notification sounds for the app I use for work, which, for whatever reason, has none of its own. My two biggest complaints are that 1) it randomly mutes my phone's standard notification sounds, and 2) the sounds I set through this app ignore silent mode. If I turn my phone on vibrate, that means I don't want it to make any sound. If you guys fix these issues I will gladly give you 5 stars.
The concept is exactly what I was looking for and it works well at times...if it would stop turning down the volume on notifications it would surely be useful and 5 star . However as is its useless if you don't hear the alert due to this issue. Please fix it. I would gladly donate funds to get someone on this fix! Let's make it work! 6.0.1 note4 Samsung
Not worth the issues this app has. Finally giving up on it. Especially since the developer gave up on it long ago.
App fails as soon as I try to set a notification to silent! Have had to uninstall & reinstall it twice. No silent notifications.
Is there a way this can work and not turn my notifications and media to silent?? If so then it would be a perfect app... I can't stand losing hearing of my music when I get a notification...
This app seems to not respect your phone's notification volume settings, instead using your media volume and adjusting it on the fly. This is causing a lot of problems for me! For instance, if I'm playing a game and I have the volume turned down low, a sudden notification will cause the game's audio to play loudly for a few seconds as this app hijacks my volume-- regardless of my settings! I don't know if I can continue to use this app if it behaves this way.
***Update 2/17/2017** The app still will turn the notification volume all the way down and leave it siren, but now I've also noticed that sometimes when I DO have the phone muted or on vibrate, some of the sounds I have set in the app will sound anyway. It's just becoming almost unusable. But it's not consistent, either. Sometimes it works just as it should and not mess with the notification volume, but most of the time it doesn't work and mutes the notification volume without setting it back to the level it was before it messed with it. This app was great until October 2016.*** ***Original review***With an update, the app now turns the notification volume all the way down when a new notification comes in. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, and have made sure the app has permissions and is turned on. So the latest version you thought fixed the issue didn't, at least not for a Galaxy S6 on Android 6.0.1.
This app was great. They broke it with an update dated sometime before Oct. 25th. Since the latest update, of the same above date, it now works great again. Thanks!!
I want to rate 5 stars, but I can't. The good: The app does exactly what it says; it allows you to set a different ringtone for each app. The bad: I can't figure out how to reset back to an app's own internal tone if I change my mind about my custom tone (e.g. OWA for Android). The ugly: Although call volume remains untouched, the app randomly drops volume for both notifications AND music/video/games/other little by little until they are completely silenced, so I still miss important notifications if I haven't checked my volume settings recently. Bottom line, if you're ok with checking your phone volumes several times a day, it's a great app.
I loved the concept of this app and thought it was just what I was looking for. Unfortunately it continuously turns my media and notification volumes off therefore I don't get any notifications from the app or otherwise. It has even made me late because my alarms have no volume.
On Verizon Note 4 app has two bugs. First, selected custom Notification Sound produces only silence after a while. Need to delete and add back to restore the custom tone. The worst bug is that it turns down the media volume to 0 sporadically enough to become frustrating in only a day of use.
Works ... Sort Of While you can set custom notification sounds for any app, those custom sounds do not observe the notification volume setting. The one app I have using custom notification plays that sound at like 8x volume of normal notifications.
Garbage! It used to work as advertised, but now it crashes every time I try to set a notification. App is completely unusable as is.
Followed the instructions to give app proper access, but it still randomly puts my alert and ringtone to silent without restoring them afterwards. I'm missing alerts, so I'm having to uninstall it and try an alternative.
Seems to play some sounds as media instead of as a notification. So when you have your phone on vibrate the sounds will play as loud as your volume setting for media.
I have a wireless camera system for my house and it depends on my phone"s notification sound when someone trips one of the cameras. With this app I can change the notification sound to whatever I want!!!!
Waste of space, don't download.
In love the concept of this however, when I set different notifications for each app it defaults the last sound assigned to all notifications. Will give 5 stars if this ever gets corrected. Thanks anyway dev. I appreciate the effort! For Galaxy S7 Active
It plays the correct notification sound but it also triggers the sound for Google voice typing for some reason. Doesn't matter which ringtone is selected. It must have something to do with the way it mutes notification and system volumes to only utilize media volume. Using Android N 7.0.
This is exactly what I wanted but alas it constantly turns my volume to zero and I keep missing phone calls, totally unusable until this is fixed
I like the idea of this app (can't believe I can't find a working alternative) but it's buggy for me. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes some apps still play the default android notification sounds even though I've already configured them in this app to other notification sounds. I also wish that there were an option to save/restore the sound settings in this app.
Using HTC 10. Works with most app notifications. ESPN app doesnt seem to change its notification sound. One hug problem I see is that when on vibrate or silent, it switches back to sound which can cause problems when in a meeting.
Ive made sure to enable it in my settings but it still doesn't work. All notifications just get muted.
Same issue as others. It's a shame because I really liked the app.
Having the same issues as other users. It used to work great. Now it mutes my notifications when the first notification comes in.
Updated, it's STILL muting my notifications
I really like what this app wants to do but I had to uninstall it because it kept setting my notification volume to zero
Doesn't work anymore. Only get the default tone for all notifications.
This was great when I could set a notification to use any sound. Now it only lets me use the sounds built in to the device. What's even the point then?
Worked great until the update! Should have left it alone. If it ain't broke don't fix it!
After update , the problem is same , it doesn't work
No longer works at all I use this for work and I'm losing money please fix!

And it's amazing! Make sure you allow the app access to your notifications in the security settings. (See other comments for how.) Thank you to the developer for continuing to support this app! Update: Am now getting the glitch of it turning the volume all the way down! D: Help! Will return to 5 stars when it works again. (Galaxy S6) 10/25 Update: It now seems to be muting both my notifications and my media. :C Downgrading to one star until fixed.
