About PerApp

PerApp lets you customize your device with per-application individualized settings.

Currently you can vary the following settings on a per-app basis:
- Screen orientation
- Screen timeout
- Volume boost [needs Android 2.3 and higher] [Note: Volume boost can destroy your speakers and/or headphones and/or hearing if you set it too high]
- Font size [only some apps and devices are compatible]
- Minimum CPU speed [needs root]
- Maximum CPU speed [needs root]
- Input method [needs root]

On Android 4.1 and higher, this application needs root due to a change in the READ_LOGS permission.

PerApp requests many permissions because it has to control many settings as well as watch the log files for application launch. If you are concerned about privacy issues, PerApp is an open source application and you are welcome to peruse the source code at code.google.com/p/perapp and build it from source yourself.

Overall this is a good app, particularly for dealing with volume and orientation issues. There are some control issues however. The app has notifications to tell you when it's running that can be turned on, off, or only in use. That said I see an icon in my notification bar all the time. Even when the notifications should be turned off an icon sits there which I hate to see. The addition of a widget for easy on/off would also be incredibly helpful. Lastly whenever i make changes to app controls, particularly volume boost, I have to reboot my phone before I see them take effect which is a little frustrating. This app covers the role of individual app setting that android should do by default and does and ok job.

Worked perfectly in the beginning; then crashed. Potential app conflict? I already have volume booster from this dev., didn't install app for that reason; now crashes at boot. perhaps the 2 conflicted, or it's marshmallow 6.0 which i hate: or simply flaws in the app itself. I've emailed the dev., if i hear back & a solution is found, will update.

A great concept but the execution seems poor, at least on my Nexus 7. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. And sometimes it crashes the whole system. I can't tell if there is a conflict with other apps with similar functions or the app itself is buggy, so I had to uninstall it. But I like the concept a lot - per app, literally - and hopefully it gets more polished in the future.

This is one of my favorite root apps, it lets you set a minimum and maximum speed for individual apps which is great for games that usually lag. so when you close out an app, your speed drops down to your normal setting, which saves battery. one flaw on my phone is when i open up the app it freezes, so i kill it then reopen it and that works every time. it stays running and works all the time though. and the volume boost can only work on apps in the foreground.

seriously, i couldn't find anything worthy of this app...and it wasn't easy to find this one. tell your friends, this app deserves some hype. in conjunction with root dim it can speed up your phone, and save battery life.

I like where this is going, it's still a bit unstable though. It's already been said, but a must have feature is for full volume control, not just boosting. I would be able to use this app almost to my content as it does have many other useful and unique features, but it doesn't have a complete app list. Ala, things like Google and Samsung TTS, other 'hidden' programs. If we had a more comprehensive list, then I think this app would be usable if not necessary for all power users regardless of a few missing features.

I thought this was going to be able to adjust volume on apps not just boost the volume. Also this can use a wifi feature like turn on wifi per app.

Fantastic per-app volume control. Nothing else like it available! Crashes. It appears to work and I think that is fantastic. I *want* my GPS to be loud in the car, but I *don't* want my Candy Crush blasting everyone in the room. Problem solved! I just disable cpu and all other functions except volume control, set default at 12, then set some individual apps to 1! Version 1.03 on my Note 2 with Samsung 4.1.2.. if I exit and go back in, it hangs and the system asks me to end or wait etc... it never recovers unless I end the app and relaunch it. My CPU graph shows all four cores barely used when this is happening.

M70%
by M####:

Well, at least volume boost doesn't work on my S3 and it's the only reason I downloaded it. And yes, I am rooted.

M70%
by M####:

E.g. attempting to set CPU min and Max for angry birds simply does nothing on jelly Bean.... is running in background but completely ignored by the OS (fully rooted Omega rom)

M70%

It has NO control over control at all

Orientation doesn't work. Haven't tried anything else

M70%
by M####:

Orientation just toggles the stock orientation. For example, Tetris can't be played on landscape unless you use Set Orientation, because it overrides the system orientation setting. This just toggles that. And to top it all off, it doesn't even return to the previous setting even after going out of the app.

Great app. Isn't working on my Samsung galaxy note 10.1 since the jellybean update though.

M70%
by M####:

I used it for force orientation for certain apps...tasker does not do that....one fix is needed as i couldnot change the default orientation from automatic to landscape, the makes autorotate is auto set to on unless i manually set it to off every time my device boots....

M70%
by M####:

Does what it claims and do it good. Caution though as with all apps with more power than some user can control. It is not for everyone. Don't blame the software for lack of knowledge.

I can't believe I haven't rated this yet lol I've had it since it 1st came out. 5+ starts for sure! Thanks for making this!!

I just wanted to get office documents like spreadsheets to open in landscape, with everything else on portrait. This manages it perfectly.

M70%

Using it to lock screen orientation on a per app basis and works great. Can't speak for the other features, didn't need them.

Q70%
by Q####:

I was excited to find an app that would let me control the volume of individual apps, but the volume boost setting doesn't affect volume at all. Orientation lock doesn't work either. This app literally does nothing.
