Custom ICS Search Widget

Looks good and works fine but they resize issue is extremely annoying. However I found the answer.... Custom Search Bar Widget CSBW...this one works perfect, is transparent, and extends across the entire screen 5 x 5 ☺

This works awesome on the lg power running lollipop 5.1. ! Use this on my galaxy s4 running lollipop too and the ok Google works just fine. And for the people having trouble you have to acces this app through your widgets in settings not by opening the app itself. Drag widget to the screen you want to use it on then you can change the color and shadow effects . ok Google works as well if you open developers developer settings

It's a simple concept, and very effective, for those of us who a) use Google and b) showcase our home screens as works of art and c) think the current google widget is ugly as sin. Thank you x 100 for making this.

Wanted this to make my homescreen prettier, without a resize it's hideous. Yeah everything else works but dang, for a fashion widget, they forgot the second biggest detail. EDIT: I ended up resizing my grid, insanely tedious to resize all my other apps but I truly hate and despise googles playskool search bar. This gets it's 5 stars back.

People, this app itself DOES NOT control the OK GOOGLE command. To make that work, open Google Now page, settings, voice, turn on for all screens. When I installed this widget, my all-screen OK Google setting was indeed disabled (that feature didnt exist in ICS).. Retrain your voice, restart phone. Then it worked. THE TRANSPARENT GOOGLE BAR RULES. Thanks, dev! There are ads during the settings page, but the developer needs to make a living - he's not a volunteer!!!!! Please thumbs up my review if it works.

I wanted to be able to customize the color of my Google search box and this does that perfectly! Also the 'hello google' feature works great as well. Some people say it did not work for them but for me it does. I am using this with the launcher Nova Prime which may or may not make a difference.

Fantastic looks better than the ugly rainbow search bar ,but is there a way to resize it width ways so it fits my screen like the regular google search widget???

No frame semi transparent Google name , voice icon .... looks great on my wallpaper . Certainly better than the given google widget on marshmallow.

I love the option to remove borders and make it really transparent. As other users say it really needs to be one row widget, currently it takes two rows. If you can fix this, 5 stars app in every aspect. :)

I was looking for this, something simple and easy on the eyes and the ability to.customize. I have a white theme and with this I can set it to black. "OK Google" works for me from my galaxy S5. I'm very pleased.

Was awesome until I found out I couldn't resize the widget. Note 5 has up to 5 × 5. Widget is fixed at 4 x 1, would be perfect if I could resize and get a 5 star if that could happen.

Exactly what I was looking for, works just fine, now all of my screens is B&W as intended. I have to agree with the resize issue even though it does not affect me with a 5 inch screen.

I hate it when a company forces its design ideas on its users. Google is working to be as restrictive like Apple. When its supposed to be the opposite. The fact that someone had to recreate this outside of Google is ridiculous.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ABILITY TO RESIZE THE SEARCH BAR??? IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME IF THE SEARCH BAR IS ONLY 75% THE WIDTH OF MY SCREEN... OTHER THAN THAT, THIS APP IS FANTASTIC!!!

This is exactly what I was looking for. They plain white bar that Google gives you is boring. And it doesn't match my Samsung themes. Thanks Dev!

Love the transparency but I want it to stretch all the way across my 5×1 phone screen. The search bar currently stays at 4×1.

google tried to force their lame fisher price looking cartoon logo on my phone so i downloaded this instead. it will appear in your widgets after you install it, looks identical to the original classy google logo, i cant tell the difference. all is well again!

Just wanted a simple search bar widget in the home screen. Installed it, set it up, tried to search (text, voice and Google icon) and did absolutely nothing after clicking each a dozen times. Might as well be a picture or and ad. Those work better.

Love the old customization of ICS look. Not real happy with alot of the directions Google/Android is going these days. More options & customization less controling our Android user experience PLZ GOOGLE/Android!!!

Typing into the search bar and tapping the microphone to activate voice search works just the same as the regular stock widget. The widget does not respond to "OK Google", however, you can fix this by enabling "OK Google" detection from any screen in the settings on the central Google app and, voilà! Like many other users, I hated the loss of the transparent search bar widget in favor of solid white. This app is the perfect solution and what's more I can customize it to fit any background color scheme.

possible to resize, lengthen specifically, much shorter than my screen width. Other than that much, much more appealing than Google's cartoon looking search bar. LG G4

Why can't I make the search bar longer? I should be able to expand it vertically or horizontally as far as I'd like... GALAXY S6 EDGE PLUS user

I installed this on my nexus 7 and my G2. And I love the customizing that can be done with it. But for some reason it will not resize on my G2.

It takes up more room than it needs or says it does. I want it at the top of my screen but it won't go because it apparently doesn't fit (even though it should)

I love the original Google Search bar with the TouchWiz Launcher but when installing other launchers, it didn't have it anymore. This is the first widget that creates a Google Bar just like the original

Works well on my Galaxy S5. I been using this app for ages.. Lol and no complaints from me. Luv; luv it! Really N'joy customizing with my colorful/fun backgrounds. 5 ☆'s Highly recommend this app.

I really like this customizer. If I could make the edges rounded would make it even better. Since we're in Marshmallow time, it'd be better if I could make it look more modern

I hate the solid white Google search bar and you can't see the background. Now I have it customized just the way I want it. Good app!

Miss the clear search box on my old Note 3. Did not care for the white opaque box on my S5. Works perfectly.

Can't use on a 5x1 grid as not full width otherwise i would have kept it. Deal breaker unfortunately.

Works very well on my note 4 , and the old transparent look to me looks better than new version .....

On my previous ROM the widget was 4x1 as size.Now i have android 4.0.4 and the widget is 4x2.:-( Can you please give me an answer? P.S.-5 star because it's very good.

How can you call a program customizable when you can't resize the widget? Even the default Google search bar has the ability to be resized.

I was trying to find a way to undo Google's latest horrible design decision. As long as your app offers the logo I installed, I will be happy :)
