Minimalistic Text is a widget app that displays information in a minimalistic way.
It can be configured to display time, date, battery and weather information. The layout of the widget is highly customizable through the layout editor.

Explanations for the permission requests:
** android.permission.VIBRATE **
used in the layout editor to give feedback that an item has been dragged
** android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION **
used by the weather service to get your coarse location and retrieve the weather for it
** android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE **
needed to determine if the weather data can be fetched
** android.permission.INTERNET **
needed to actually retrieve the weather data and to get the name of the location you are
** android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED **
needed to be able to wait until the phone booted before initializing
** android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE **
to gain access to your SD card and save the preferences to it
** android.permission.GET_TASKS **
used to determine if the home screen is currently active. This is used by the automatic rendering option
** android.permission.CHANGE_COMPONENT_ENABLED_STATE **
To enable / disable widget sizes

Tasker integration:
1) add a Locale variable to your layout and set the variable name (click it)
2) in Tasker select Plugins -> Minimalistic Text for an action
3) Click "Edit", a new activity starts
4) enter the name of the variable and the text that should be displayed for this variable (you can use Tasker variables)

when the widget looks into the calendar for future appointment or events, it will display the current month for a future event although the event happens in the next month i.e. if today's date is 24th Mar and you have an appointment on 08th Apr, the widget will list it as 08th Mar... this is especially so for appointments occuring in the beginning of a month... otherwise it would have been a great widget...

Great app. But this is really too bad that there is no variable for ISO week number (I only use this app for displaying the date and Week Number). For instance today we are the 15th of November 2016. The Week Number integrated variable evaluates to 47, but in ISO notation we are in week 46. This is due to the fact that this year the 2 first days of January start in week 0... Also there is no second available in clock settings. I will review my rating in accordance (but you seem to not read at the reviews).

DON'T APPLY THE LATEST UPDATE! This is normally a five-star app, truly! I never have a device without it, and it's very worth the pro upgrade. But, It crashes if you try to edit your static text icons. Use a backup if you're reinstalling.

Every time my screen is off, widget resets itself to original format. I have to keep modifying it the way I like it each time. Otherwise this app is really cool. Galaxy Note 3

It was great, but now my clock widget keeps failing to load. A restart will reload it, but it will happen again. Not sure if it's because it is custom, or linking to Timely instead of default android, or what have you.

Love it, allows you to compose your own widgets in a very easy fashion. Only solution I found out there to display weather both as C and F, BTW.

Take your time and you'll see you can do anything with the format to get it just the way you want. Would be nice to see a theme setting to choose from dozens of preset formats

This desperately needs compatibility with launchers. If I make a widget on my Nova home screen, this app cannot detect it. This makes editing nearly impossible if I want the tap actions to do anything other than edit the widget. This is a severe oversight.

Really liking this app right now. It has a little bit of a learning curve. But it's fairly intuitive. My only real complaint is I would like to be able to make it use a different weather provider such as the gov.ca weather. The three that are available are pretty decent though.

Did nearly exactly what I wanted. Very configurable. Would like to see format specifiers for numeric values to complete the experience.e.g: Humidity shows decimals and point, don't want it to, temperature doesn't but would like it to. Part of this may be what weather service provides but any external values should be parsed and reformatted to user preference.

This is a great app. I had it on my Samsung Note 1, 2, 3, 4 and LG V20, Samsung Tab 1, 2 and tab S. It didn't work for the longest time on my Note 3, & 4 but I installed it again on my new LG V20 and works great.

This widget is a must have. Put dynamic text on your home screen, in any style. Make it tappable to launch your favorite app. This widget alone makes Android phones worth purchasing.

This app was great(10 stars) until the last update. Now all my widget's font size appear super huge even though the font size setting is set low. Obvious program error. Please fix ASAP! Argh!
