IMPORTANT: Are you having issues with the latest PlayStore V5 force closing with the theme?
You need to update your ROM (such as updating to CM11 M11) and GAPPS/GoogleServices to the latest versions, that will solve the issue.
DarkMTRL is a dark theme developed for the completely new Theme Engine from CyanogenMod.
Is is based on the DarkUI theme but enhanced with key components from the Material Design preview of Android L (without the crayon-like colors, but adapted for the ThyrusHolo UI design.

To avoid upsetting users who are not yet ready for Material-based UI components and prefer the original design of DarkUI, the redesigned DarkUI theme was published as a stand-alone Theme based on user request.
Enhancments to the existing DarkUI theme
- Animated buttons (checkboxes and radio btns)
- Many Android L based components integrated (adapted to ThyrusHolo visuals)
- New Notification area, drawer and quicksettings
- New spinners
- New Material-based Statusbar and NavBar icons
- New Settings design
- New switches based on Material
- New icons
- New circle avatars
- and much more.
Please refrain from commenting or complaining that I am asking you to purchase a DarkUI theme again - this was not my preference either, but many existing users asked me to maintain the DarkUI theme standalone. Nobody is forcing you to purchase the Theme overhaul but it is available if you want the new look

The best dark theme I've ever seen. The material design keep things fresh and simple. The last update with the navbar icons is the long waited update. Keep up the amazing work. Doesn't work with the new update for Google play.

Question: I use your paid version but I'm also using a blacked out hangouts by TBO. Everything looks good except for my actual text. It appears very white almost to the point where I can't read it. The other person's text shows up fine. Still love your work and thx in advance!

This had been my favorite theme for some time now. Edit: Sounds like there is a fix coming for the soft keys. I really liked the old soft keys were the perfect combination with the new material elements. Excellent theme, as always.

Hard to choose between DarkMTRL and DarkUI Google Play edition. Got both; this one adds the new animated spinner and toggles. That edit pointer in Google Keyboard is minimal enough to not block word suggestions! Cool!

It's too bad you had to drop your kit kat dark theme, but this one, it more than compensates. Loving the Android L compliments across the UI. Keep up the good work!
