Hexy Launcher for Android
Make your home screen a canvas of hexagonal tiles that adapts to your most important apps.
** This application was built during one of SwiftKey’s innovation weeks and is being released in SwiftKey Greenhouse. It is not an officially supported product, instead it’s being supported by a small but dedicated team during our innovation time.**
Let Hexy organize your home-screen automatically, saving you time when searching for and launching apps. Hexy learns from the way you use apps in order to predict the app you’re most likely to want to use next.
★ FEATURES ★
* All your apps arranged in a hexagonal grid.
* A central hexagon that contains your apps Hexy learns are most relevant to you.
* Quickly filter the apps in your grid using the search bar.
* Add widgets for your apps and size dynamically.
* Hide apps by long-pressing on their tile.
★ FEEDBACK ★
We’d love your feedback - please use the button in the app or visit http://vip.swiftkey.com/index.php?/forum/885-hexy-launcher/. We are specifically interested in feedback on how well Hexy predicts the applications you want to use next and what features you think it’s missing.

When sliding as low as possible, top icons are still hidden by the search bar. Also adding a fixed layout setting would be cool (so apps are at a familiar place)
I like it but just one problem, please add the option to change icon packs
unable to unhide hidden apps,u nable to move apps if i like to arrange certain apps at one position :(
It is soo buggy when i scroll up and down right and left
If you all give as the preference of launcher, exp : to hide search bar, change hex color etc, please make it in next update.
If it's going to put the most popular apps in the center, then it should also place the level of most used apps closest to the center as well, not in alphabetical order out from the center.
Like the concept, but I can't find the settings to unhide apps, and I would like the colorsections to be sorted by frequency of use of apps instead of alphabetic.
I think you should be able to move apps around; if you thought one app should be with another color group. That includes the 7 in the middle as well. One more thing, the flashlight widget won't work.
I love the concept but I think 2 changes would make it perfect: 1) Most frequently used apps stay towards center even if outside of center cluster. So your least used apps stay on the VERY outside. 2) Able to move apps to different colors. Some apps get misplaced in a wrong color, I wish I could manually correct this. Other than that, easily my favorite launcher right alongside the pixel launcher.
The app sorting is very confusing and widgets don't work well with the hexagonal theme. Maybe add a choice of the alphabetical list as default. If I could drag around apps and them snap in place, I would give another star. More settings and one more star.
It's your basic b*tch launcher. There are no animations, just a palette of apps, rather unorganized. Takes too long to find anything. Only good thing is that it's free and can replace your existing launcher.
I am a big fan of the look because of its similar style to the Apple watch (although this is better because it lets you alphabetize AND still have widgets; the widgets part is huge imo!). Please allow for custom icon packs. Also, some of the hexagons are located mostly behind the search bar, making touching them difficult
This seriously needs a zooming feature where I can set the zoom permanently/pinch. I am not sure if it has this right now. It's a great idea otherwise
This app is mind blowing!!! I' ve been using this for past 2 months n its working pretty well. It is an unique concept and what makes it special is that it is very easy to use, light weight,no annoying notifications or in-app downloads. BEST LAUNCHER EVER!!!
A bunch of apps I use frequently just disappeared after I restarted my phone. They were still installed, and weren't in the list of hidden apps, but couldn't be found in Hexy. I tried rebooting my phone a second time, they were still gone. Uninstalling.
Lags and takes forever. When apps are loading from SD card after boot they don't appear on the launcher and I have to stop the launcher and restart it in order to make the apps appear again.
It's a solid launcher in regards to battery consumption and data usage /memory . It doesn't get any better than this , but same time as it should , you can't even see the wallpaper unless you hide all the apps and if you do that , it's nearly impossible to access them.
I like it except I find it very difficult to move/organize a specific app to another location on the home screen. There's no support online to find out how to do this.
A cool concept that is in need of a lot of refinement. While I liked the layout and the idea, it turns out the predictions are only useful for those who only use seven apps (the number that can fit in the center area). If an app originally is on the outside edge, and then after a couple uses pops to the center, if it loses it's place in the center, it will go all the way back to the original place on the edge, rather than a location close to the center. Other than the apps in the center, the rest of apps are not grouped by any rhyme or reason. What would be nice is to have less-used apps grouped by category, while more commonly-used apps appear in the center. It would also be cool to have a location-based prediction option, such as my Starbucks app at center when I walk into Starbucks. It would also be nice to have a Google search bar on home screen. Further, I noticed some of the widgets don't display properly. In addition, I can't add shortcuts to the desktop (such as website links): it only displays apps. Until this launcher can be tuned up, I don't see myself using it for the long-run.
After a few days I'm getting used to the feel and like it. However the widgets page is very clunky and calendar widgets just don't seem to work (they stop updating and don't always respond to a click)
It doesn't seem that accurate on most used apps. I know this from using Nova as that knows my most commonly used apps and most of those in the middle here are not correct. I could see potential for this depending on how well it develops. Being able to select my most common apps would be helpful.
Some applications only become accessible from launching within the Play Store. So far if an app has been installed on the SD card and has a pending update, it dissappears from Hex Launcher.
I've only had it for about 20 minutes and it's one of majority launchers ever!! My only problem is that some apps are too far up and the search bar is in the way but I can still kinda get to em, good job though!!!!
The launcher looks cool on paper. But real-world usage is just more complex and it looks cluttered more than it looks organised. The problem isn't with the implementation, but rather the core design itself.
There are tons of launchers in the market and everyone following the same way. This is what SwiftKey is known for - sobbing thier own path!!! I hope this product makes it to production
I love the concept but I have a nasty bug, some apps hide from the launcher and is impossible to open them. If this change and some customization options made in the app I'll go for it.
A little more finishing touches are needed. Some inertia to movement maybe. More widget space. Maybe dynamic size of hexagons
Good job.. Few suggestions.. 1. May be a zoom in & out option.. so that the user can have a look at all his apps at once.. 2. Option to group apps as per user.. or make folders. 3. Custom icon size. 4. Also able to choose our own colours for icon backgrounds.
1) It'd be nice to have a zoom features on here. 2)I'd like to be able to organize my center with apps I want there. And maybe add a clock option for the center 3) I like the color organization on there but, I'd like to switch some apps around still. 4) I want to remove some apps from the home screen, but still want access to them when I want with ease.
It is very good and nice, love the style and idea. I just have some suggestions, please make it customisable, letting user choose what color is for set of apps. A lot more comes to my mind :)
Very innovative and interesting launcher. Very cool, but some obvious work to do. For example being able to sort apps yourself.
I love the design of the app but there are three things that I want that I know other people want 1) the ability to zoom in and out 2) be able to add folders and 3) have widgets on the grid with the homescreen
A different take on launcher stuff. When it also becomes context dependent and I am sure SwiftKey will have something under their sleeves, as prediction is what they do best,it would be better.
I love the app but feel that it can be quite unorganized. I would love it if you could organise it to how you want. Also it would be nice if you could zoom in and out
The layout is exactly what I wanted but the option to choose what to sort by yourself is missing. Also settings like changeing the color of the hexagons to automatically adjust to the app color, change an app's icon, adjust hexagon opacity and allow for widgets on the home screen are all nessisary. If these are available I would use it and rate it five stars, but without these features it is worse than other launchers. On the plus side, I am thankful the deveopler included no adds :)
Groupings are fairly random, they seem to be based somewhat on colour but it's so much faster to launch apps after using it a few times.. So easy in fact that I'm happy enough with a single widget screen (especially since the sizing is 100% custom)
Great app, but the search is buggy. Doesnt respond to typed inputs. Only works when voice search is used. Five stars once this is fixed..
Almost perfect, I just want to hide the widget button, maybe the searchbar as well.
My first impression was, Yeh right?! However now that I've used it for a while I can find my apps really quickly. The support for widgets is limited. Weirdly it just works.

As others have said awesome apps just need a couple of options, 1 options to have colour area sorted by use instead of alphabetical, 2 option to allow colour area spill over smaller areas as if a colour area is alot smaller than others it can look silly.
