Not sure why it needs access to make and manage phone calls, but I am sure the developer has good reason. Personally I am not up to giving away precious screen space, and it needs an easier way to navigate as it's not intuitive at all. An easier way to modify borders images would be nice as well. The included free borders are cute and fun, and the ability to use your own pictures is a neat feature.
