A music extension for Muzei.
Muzei Music Extension displays album art for your music. When you play a song, the extension will look for the artwork on your device. If none is found, it will download it from Last.fm.
Features:
- Choose your favorite image to display when music isn't playing
- Option to only download artwork when Wi-Fi is connected
- Choose the desired resolution from Last.fm (if you're worried about data usage)
**Not all music players are supported,** Some music players don't make it possible at all. Please don't leave a nasty review if your player isn't supported. Instead, send me a friendly e-mail to support@simplecityapps.com, and tell me which player you'd like supported.
* Pandora is supported on 4.4+, but requires notification access.
* Spotify is supported on 4.3+ but requires notification access.
* If your music player doesn't work, try going into the settings and enabling notification access. This will allow the app to read your lockscreen controls, to obtain the song information. (Android 4.4+ only)
Please note:
- If you do not have an internet connection, and the extension cannot find any artwork on your device, it will continue to display the most recently found artwork, unless you choose am image to display instead (see the settings menu)
- This extension will download with Wi-Fi off by default! You can set to download via Wi-Fi only by going to the Muzei Music Extension settings menu.
- The notification access permission has been added for Spotify support (the extension gets the track information from the Spotify status bar notification).
- Notification access is also required for Pandora support. Any player which has lockscreen controls is now supported in the extension, provided notification access has been granted, and the device is running Android 4.4+
- If your music player isn't working, try to find a setting for AVRCP / Bluetooth controls, and turn it on. This allows the app to send the required information about the song.

Using Note 5 on Android 6.0.1 with default wallpaper set. Works great with music but when I exit Google play my default wallpaper appears for a moment then changes back to the last album I was listening to. So essentially the default wallpaper feature doesn't work right, which is unfortunate because everything else works but I will probably end up uninstalling until this is fixed. I also would prefer a fixed wallpaper as others have mentioned instead of it being cropped depending what home screen I am on.

Still doesn't go to the default wallpaper when music is paused or when Spotify is closed. I figured out I have to hit pause and play a few times to get default wallpaper when i want to pause the music. I shouldn't have to do that. Simplecity, please update the app or have you abandoned it???

somehow it diesn't work on my cubot dinosaur with android 6.0 installed.. my old phone oerfectly managed it. so I just wanted to report this issue and look forward to hear a solution or a reason why it doesn't work. great extension tho

It syncs quickly if I'm using it on play music. For whatever reason, it doesn't recognize apple music though.

I would use this app constantly if it worked consistently. It freezes quite often and stops updating artwork. The only fix I've found is to uninstall and start over.

Amazing idea, however while using spotify muzei fails to update the wallpaper to the current playing song. I would like to use this as my default wallpaper but untill this bug is fixed it is unusable.

It's not fetching any album art at all, it recognizes there's music playing but just shows an error message when it tries to find the album art. Using Black Player on my OnePlus 3

It's a great idea but is super buggy and not updated. Doesn't always display default background when music is playing, can't change default artwork after selecting it the first time (even after an uninstall and reinstall), etc... Needs work but a great idea.

Works the majority of the time. Sometimes doesn't update after starting Spotify stream, but otherwise works great with Phonograph and other music apps. Looks absolutely beautiful.

This extension delivers. I've wanted the ability auto update my wallpaper with the last played album art for along time. High res options look good on the Nexus 6P too!

I was trying to get my album artwork to display as my wallpaper, however whenever the music stops, the default wallpaper comes back for a second before being replaced by the last album art. I'd love it if the feature to display a default image worked correctly

Option to upload/save our own album covers? Some of the current album covers look pretty blurry, and it'd be nice to choose our own if possible. Other than that, the app works perfectly and fetches everything nicely.

...there should be an option to use the embedded album art on my phone, so it can be set to the ones I add. The online ones can sometimes be low resolution and look awkward.

Works great but the default wallpaper option still does as others describe. When music stops, it briefly shows the default wallpaper before quickly displaying the last album art again. (LG G5) Definitely want to use this but this bug is a deal breaker for now. Excellent work though! I've been looking for something like this for a long time!
