Contact Alert for Android
Doesn't work. Messenger contacts doesn't show, neither "setup" or "settings" work. Useless.
App used to work great, but with my new phone it closes when it wants to in the background. I almost need to check it once every hour to see if it's still open. Maybe someone should make some updates.
The app plays the alert, but repeatedly many many times with no way to disable. The alert is played way over driven too. Not usable
I have to reset every contact every day,or I don't get any alert. Free headache come n git it
Works great. I had a galaxy s5 that you could assign message notifications. The lg didn't have this feature. It does now!
How do you hear sound for text from someone not in your contacts?
Would be nice if the option to remove ads were included and the settings don't work
Volume control doesn't affect the app. Always full blast.
Does not work
Not working at all
My phone did Systems update and took away my individual text tones so I come across this app and it's perfect does exactly what I want I turned my text notifications off and I have no conflicts with it at all so far . I set the people that text me most with their own tones then I set a default tone for the rest of them.
Set default sound to silent and in contact alert app set default and would not work lg g4 have same problem other person has with lg g4
Works if you have the contact stored. Unknown number's will not do anything since your phone settings are off.

This is just what i was looking for works perfect on my lg4
It's a good idea, but... No. This one doesn't work too well. It plays the song and continues playing even when I already read the text or pulled down the notify bar. Also, one time it sounded, but I didn't actually see a new unread message. I texted the assigned person back and they said that they did text me. Why didn't I see it? Annoying. Never happened before. I immediately uninstalled. Thanks for reading. God bless.
It works pretty well on my LG G4 except that if I get an SMS message from someone not in my contact list I get no notification at all. This is because notifications have to be turned off in the built in app to prevent getting two alerts. For those cases, the default alert tone should be used.
I assigned tones to individuals and they reset to default after a while. Sometimes it does nothing. The 'settings' button does nothing... There is a glitch in this app... Frustrating as its so close to being great...

Thank you. For 1 person, i need to have a specific message tone for her. Thank you
So it works while I have the app open...but once I have locked the phone...nothing and silent...pretty garbage I actually downloaded it because of was basic despite the 1000 downloads only. I got what I deserved.
Works well with LG G4
I really like this app.
Question? How do you stop the notification sound. It does play for each of my contacts, I view my text but the notification sound keeps on playing. It should stop once I view my text. Right?
Okay, so I gave it this rating mainly for one reason. There are people who have written reviews about the app being 'silent'. It isn't silent, rather, there is a delay or an ascension of sound. Upon researching online I found that initially when Lollipop and Moto X were added to android phones the notifications, ringtones, and alarms would start quiet before reaching the set maximum volume of the phone. This is silly because some of the notification tones are so short that they don't have time to reach their maximum volume. It seems that this problem was patched and the notifications now run at full volume all the time. However, this app has not fixed that problem and I noticed that when people text me it always starts quiet quiet before ascending to a louder volume. This renders the app useless until this problem is fixed. Get it fixed Contact Alert (rsminsmith) and I'll give you a 5 star rating and preach about your incredible product.
Will not activate
It doesn't seem quite reliable, as sometimes it doesn't make the noises. It appears to never make noises if I receive text messages via AT&T's email-to-text service. Perhaps it is because every text comes from a new recipient? Edit: ah, I switched to a different app that displays the recipient's phone numbers and it says "unknown number". Maybe that is the bug.

I can finally have custom notification sounds on my Oneplus One! But now when its on vibrate, it's silent. The app's settings for the notifications to be silent override every other setting on my phone telling it to vibrate.
Great app, works perfectly. And it's freeee!
Lately when I get a text, sometimes my text tones won't go off, so I often have to re-set the text tones to fix this, meaning I frequently don't see texts until much later than I received them.
Spent the time to assign ringers for my contacts, disabled the built-in notification, had people send me test sms to try it, etc, but no go. Uninstalling it now. Need a rating system that says "not working" or such instead of "disliking" something.
Did not work for downloaded Zedge sounds/tones. Only worked with stock tones before. Developer & I discussed the problem but communication stopped abruptly. Apparently he/she started work on the issue because after the update there are NO issues; PERFECT!
When using custom sounds it displays "default ringtone (T-Jingle)" even though the custom sound is indeed set and working. Otherwise it does what it says.
This app is so amazing I've been looking 4 a application like This for #Android

Well, it almost works.... It works OK so long as the app is open, but you get no sounds at all if the app isn't running. Maybe there is an option in the settings to overcome this issue, but selecting the settings option does nothing at all! I would love this app to work 100% of the time, but because it doesn't, it isn't really of much use. Hopefully the developer will sort it out.
