Moto for Android
The touchless voice command has become really bad. It won't respond as quick as before. It isn't talking back like before. If I say "wake me in 2 hours" it opens the alarm page n thats it. Fix this plz!
I really like the feature that silences my phone during meetings. The problem is, I just upgraded from the Droid Turbo to the Droid Turbo 2. Now the assist part of this app is no longer there. I would really like for it to work. Is this normal? I don't know. It's just weird that the same app is different on the upgraded phone. I don't use the driving mode, or the voice at home. It's not really helpful. If I listen to the text then I want to respond and it's possible with the voice, but I didn't like it.
I have a Moto G3. As it doesn't have a notification LED I was under the impression that Moto Display would take it's place. However, whilst the screen does light up at the merest disturbance to the phone, it doesn't flash at regular intervals so no use if phone is left sitting somewhere in sight but out of reach. I like what it does otherwise and how it handles notifications but it would be so much better with an option to flash the screen.
I own a Moto G 3rd gen and i just updated to Marshmallow and i loss both of these features. It's intentional, i understand but this resulted in losing one of the main selling point of Moto G. It's pretty useless now compared to what it was. Going to change my phone as soon as i can because of this. Way to treat your loyal customers, Motorola.
I could set my phone for silence and it would stay that way. Now when I go to bed and set it for sleep, it doesn't stay silent. If I set it for none indefinitely, it turns its self back on before morning. I WANT THE OLD ASSIST BACK!!!
No longer works correctly on my Droid Turbo. When in Sleep Mode Favorite Contacts are supposed to ring through but they no longer do so. 1 Star till resolved!
Need to be able to activate modes manually when necessary (notably meeting mode, my private phone isn't linked to my professional time schedule). Second thing is interruptions and downtime management and how it relates to Assist. Maybe I'm stupid, but looks like interruptions and downtime are two independent notions, and it makes absolutely no sense to me. The way I see it is that priority interruptions is the first level of "seeked tranquility", and downtime is the highest level. If not, please explain !
I read recently you are removing moto apps. Don't do it I just bought moto x play which doesn't have led notification but moto display takes care of it so if you remove it in Android 6.0 it will be a disaster
Since lollipop upgrade on my Moto X 1st Gen it no longer works. Same on my husband's phone; same model. Loved having texts read and being able to respond with voice. Can no longer do this. So sad...
I have the Motorola droid turbo and I've always used the moto assist sleep. But lately my favorites in my contact list can still call when in assist mode but my phone won't ring or vibrate. Very frustrating especially when there's an emergency please fix
When ever I unlock my device using moto display the screen flicker once after unlocking, that looks terrible. Fix it
Hands free is totally broken, and virtually everything requires you to unlock your phone manually, defeating the purpose of hands free. You may as well disable it completely and use Google trusted voice. It won't prompt you to say or type pin code, just complain that it can't do that while the phone is locked. God forbid someone sets an alarm without unlocking the phone.
My biggest pet peeve is that you cannot set different sleep schedules. Allowing us to set different ranges for each day of the week would be gold for shift workers. My second issue is instead of going silent and vibrating for priority calls it would be great if priority calls would ring or vibrate according to choice instead. Otherwise a great app I would readily give five stars.
I completely love everything about this app! I use it all the time but I always have an issue when I say "Play Music," or even a certain song. It just takes me straight to YouTube and I just want it to play music from my own personal library. Please could you fix this or let me know how to fix it?
I really liked auto play music but this feature is gone now. Every OS update looses features my droid 4 had the best KitKat was OK but lollipop wow missing a lot of features. Play music opens you tube ? What? why that's Stupid! I have Apple music and Google Music either is fine but YouTube no never! And the music needs to auto play on headphone connect.
The voice command seems to only work well with male voices. No matter how many times I speak "listen" directly into the microphone, it will very often not recognize my female voice. My boyfriend tested it and it works fine for him. Meanwhile, other apps with voice recognition, such as Google Maps, work fine for me.
I love the concept of this app but miss Smart Actions as it was bug-free and seamless. On my Droid Maxx 2 I have it set to silence the ringer with vibrate only for 2 different custom calendars. Sometimes it will automatically turn the ringer off but most of the time it won't. I have to turn the ringer down myself. What gives?
I use this vs my Bluetooth in my car everyday. It's easy, convenient and reads all your texts to you out loud and you can also start a fresh ones without even looking at the phone or touching it with a key command. Also alerts you whos Calling asking to answer or ignore. Love it!!!!
The app constantly launches even when there is no noise around and nobody has said the launch phrase. Today it took around fifty pictures from my pocket. Last week it forgot my launch phrase entirely and I had to start over. Not sure what's going on.
Voice commands are great when they work (about 75% of the time), flashlight and camera motions are awesome, however the location based functions are sporadic, at best. It detects my work location intermittently, even when I haven't left my desk! I can't trust it to work properly while in a meeting, so I just stopped using that feature.
I have a simple yet huge favour to ask the developers that is to revert back the voice that was originally there in the Moto Voice application as it was more profound and better in all aspects. The updated voice (Indian kinda type) is soo not cool! Do consider. :)
The app is nice for automatically adjusting settings at different times and places, but it would be nice to have some kind of geofencing feature. I would love it if my WiFi could turn on automatically when I get home or into a predefined area, and off when I leave home. In addition, the camera twist gesture is too sensitive: it activates when I put the phone down on an angle
App is really useful...it will be great if you keep improving it. "If you look into edit option under keep quiet...the two options inside are technically the same thing and it doesn't have the option to uncheck it as well." Will give five stars if you fix this!!!
It's a very fine working app... Little more dedication can improve its quality tremendously. For Example , most of the calls we make are the most frequent ones.... So , it can be easily detected for the call demand.... Which otherwise becomes annoying when it calls someone else in place of the person actually desired to call..... Please work more on it... Thanks
This app was working perfectly but after the first update on my moto e2 4g it just stopped working for no reason. I am not able to use any feature of moto display. Kindly fix this or else mention some ways to get moto display to its previous state when actually it was working fine. Thank you
There should be an option to adjust Moto Display automatically. Like in my case whenever i sleep, i always put my cell beside my pillow and when i accidentally touch it, it glows. And its very much annoying for me. So please add this feature to turn off moto display in sleep mode.
Is there a way I can change the voice and if so, can you tell me how? It comes with the generic English voice but I would like it to be with a British accent. There are a lot of forums with suggestions but none have worked. I'm able to change it so when I use a Google command and ask it a question it is fine. However, when I'm driving and it tells me I have a text and reads it to me it goes back to the generic voice and doesn't keep the accent. I look forward to resolving this issue. Thanks in advance.
Moto x 2013. I've had battery issues and horrible lag doing anything (unlocking, opening apps, opening app drawer, etc.) since the lollipop update, so finally did a factory reset. Low and behold, it runs fast again! That is, until a few days later when i set up silent hours and moto voice. Hello again lag! Once I turned these off again, lag disappears. Therefore, it is definitely this app causing huge lag issues. Please fix it!
Try to use this thing when I am driving and it is really inconsistent. Keeps telling me, "Sorry I am having trouble, lets talk later." Usually do not write reviews to things but until you can fix this I will not use this app. Great idea, terrible implementation.
Moto voice feature works best in silent ares but not as in crowded area. There is lack of customisation of moto voice commands. For example, when i say to my phone "open ____ app" it will be open as per my task assigned for that command. I will give any command for any task to phone and as per my assigned command for that task it must to perform that task. That quality of software we expect from Motorola...
Whenever I try to call someone, it wants to google the call command instead of call. When I tell it to play music, better believe it googles the song instead. Whenever I ask it to do literally ANY else, it calls my boss, no idea why, it just does. Worthless piece of garbage app.
All my bugs are gone I think. Now I can't turn off the features. If I don't want my phone to talk to me, yes I can turn it off but then it silences my phone all the way so no sounds are made at all. I want to hear that a text comes in when home, I just don't want it read out loud. Why would they do this that way?? Durrrr
Not sure if the problem is with the Moto or Moto Voice app... When I send a text using voice commands and lock my Moto X 2014 immediately after, and then wake my phone, the lock screen has a black background. When I unlock, the screen is completely black. I have to restart my phone to get back to my home screen. Update: I tried sending a text via voice commands directly through the Google app, and it does not brick my phone. The problem only happens when I initiate the command with "OK Moto X".
We have two new moto G3 in our family. When we were at some airports or hotels, we always had trouble to connect to open WiFi. The moto G3 would automatically link to open WiFi without letting us to sign in. The phones appeared to be linked to WiFi, but actually not. Since it "linked" to WiFi without signing in, the phone couldn't really get access to the web. It always gave us headaches. Our iPhone and iPads don't have this problem. They will follow the WiFi providers' web pages and let us to sign in.
After 6.0.1 OTA update on Moto X Play in Canada, moto display seems to no longer work properly. Pressing the power button turns on the screen, but it appears black. The only way to seem to fix it is by turning off the display features in the Moto app.
When I launch the phrase it wasn't taking my voice in my moto x play kindly do needful update ASAP I have bought this phone because of this feature plz do something then I'll 5+5 =10 stars
Frustrated by this app. It will not move off silent or vibrate mode at home even with the ringer at the top noise level. At work it is set to vibrate only but it rings, chirps & makes lots of noises - really irritating in meetings. In Sleep mode, even though starred contacts are supposed to be able to ring through, the calls are put through to voice mail. Being an on-call healthcare professional I have to be able to rely on the phone ringing loudly at night or when at home but it does not. Really fed-up
Needs a lot more option. Wish I could set sensitivity it turn on every minute in a car when I'm driving. Annoying. How long it stays. I would make longer especially when I got something it should stay longer much longer and or blinking maybe could use the flash also if there is no notification led available which is a huge mistake anyway. Or is it there just hidden so can I activate it or why is there or is it? I'm confused. My main problem is I cannot have notification without interraction. Moto x play.
It is a good app but for moto e 2nd gen it is not working. I tried hard but only display blinks shows no notifications no time or any thing else when screen is locked..plz fix it

I had a Moto X (2nd gen) for a couple years. I recently got the Moto Z Play Droid for the larger battery. I used the Assist function on my Moto X a lot to mute my ringer in certain situations such as times I was in class or asleep. This was a feature I found invaluable. Unfortunately, it is not on the current version of Moto I'm stuck with on the Moto Z Play Droid. The next best alternative is built into Android. This functions similarly to Assist, but it is much more limited. The best part of Moto is gone.
