I have a Galaxy Note and I press the menu button on the left hand side of the screen it brings up a list of things among which "appearance" shows up and I click on it and I can change the color of the font

I like this back ground... Only thing i would change is a little bit darker font in the messages, it can me hard to read sometimes.
