Holo Label Widget Pro for Android
It works, but it doesn't allow me to change the font (text size, alignment, italics, boldness etc.) or the type face. Please add more functionality to the app. You have a great start.
Very limited functionality, but that which it does works smoothly. Would be great to have more customization in later versions: font size and alignment; top & bottom borders; and more colours & line styles.
...It would be nice to be able to edit the label once created. Bit aggravating having to delete and create a new one each time making a change.
Sometimes when widgets are restoring the wrong text appears in the screen. For example my games category was renamed to media, which is one screen over. The only way to fix this is to remove the widgets and create them again, but they still do crazy every time they are restored.
This app solves a niche problem elegantly and without requiring permissions, bravo. I find that category labels really help me to organise my apps and remove the feeling of them being an overwhelming mess. Especially when combined with folders on my Nexus 7.
Would love if it were possible to right-align the text though!

*Really* weak. Why can't I reduce the size of the label by fewer than two gridlines high? It's a completely unusable waste of screen real estate, almost defeating its entire purpose. It also snaps to the bottom of the two lines when underlined and snaps to the top when using an upper boundary line - no in-between. And with no lines, always snaps to the bottom. This means you can't label a Home Screen at the top with an underline or no line since it therefore sits a third down the screen. And even when using the ugly top line, it still creates a massive one-gridline margin that wastes space. Two labels is 4 entire screen lines. It's too bad this will never be updated.
