Meteor Swipe - Edge sidebar launcher

I'm a minimalist kind of person and I love opening my phone and seeing art, scenery etc. Yet I wanted to get to my most used apps quick. I tried app search, drawer digging and so on. I seen Samsungs hidden side drawer and fell in love. I carry an HTC so I hoped their was an app that'd offer this. After I set it up I fell in love. I use it with Nova and it's beautiful. What I've been looking for! Hope it one day let's me incorporate Sesame shortcuts then It'll be absolutely perfect!

I've Tried many switcher apps. Previously switchr was the favourite but on O the side bar crashed. Switched to meteor , very please and surprised. Aethesically it's very pleasing sticking to material look. Everything works excellent and the fact you can add folders is brilliant. One issue I have though is when a keyboard is launched the the app goes behind the keyboard and can't be used on the lower half without closing the keyboard. Maybe you could make the side bar sit on top of the keyboard therefore not interfering whenever you finish typing But need to switch apps?

I love the operating system of it as it is, but there are few things I would like fixed. Like the screen overlay issue. I have a show me redmi 4A and it's already complicated with having to go in and turn on and off the screen overlay is so if I didn't have to do that with this app it would make my life a little bit easier. But I also understand if it can't be solved because of all the different phones OS is.

I can't believe this thing got updated. Much improved and looks like it belongs on my phone. My only wish, and it may be impossible, would be to have the option of having icons that more closely resemble the ones in the Samsung launcher, which seem to reshape icons into a squircle. I know I can install an icon theme but it's not quite the same.

Francisco, thank you for your quick responses. My request for Trigger line thickness adjustment is due to the line covering part of the notification icons in the Notification Bar. I will be anxiously awaiting your update to fix this. (Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge) UPDATE: Francisco, your response is incorrect. With the Trigger located at the top, there is no adjustment for the thickness of the line. The only line adjustment is for the LENGTH of the Trigger line, not the thickness. PLEASE provide an adjustment for Trigger line thickness. I like the app, but please add the ability to adjust the thickness of the trigger line.

I'm now using Galaxy note 8 and set this app with a higher priority so it will not be turned off by the system optimization. However, the app will only work for some time until it becomes unresponsive. Any tips on how to make this work on Samsung Galaxy Note 8? I bought this app because i think it's useful.

Time for this to be allowed to work in split screen mode. Sometimes I won't have the app I want pre-loaded as a recent app so, I trigger meteor swipe, and then it immediately disappears with the toast notification "may not support split screen mode". If this was supported then it wouldn't disappear once I summon it. Also, the trigger spots show up on my pixel C running Oreo. The trigger spots are supposed to be totally invisible, but I see this greyline representing where they are. The trigger spots don't disappear until I use meteor swipe.

Solid app. Excellent addition to most if not all large phones or devices. Really makes opening apps or shortcuts just by swiping in edge of screen. (not like edge on galaxy Samsung phones ). Does not bog down phone at this time, which is always a plus (on LG v20)

I've tried a lot of side launchers over the years (seriously, so freakin many) They've all had their strengths and weaknesses and this one is no exception. It's nicely customizable and the floating widgets are a great addition. My complaint is that I can't set the trigger to get out of the way of the keyboard because I'm on an unrooted device. If you fix that problem then Glovebox would be perfect.

Updated 2017: Super prompt reply and fix from Dev on my older review!! Still one of the first apps I download on any new phone. Can't live without, thanks!! I used to love it as glovebox but suddenly it's adding every new app I install to the sidebar! As someone who tries a lot of new apps on the daily this is very annoying.

Has enough features that I bought the Pro upgrade to support the developer. The hotspot around the keyboard is disabled when the keyboard is pulled up - perfect! SwipePad couldn't do this. However, hold and release works terribly with this. It would be nice to disable/speed up animations as a feature. Also, mapping hotspots to pads would have been nice, instead of swiping multiple times. I prefer exclusively swiping and releasing instead of Swipe(Swipe, Swipe)and tap. Overall, I can get used to the quirks, but it would be nice to help lure people from apps like SwipePad for this to be purely an upgrade from it (which it already mostly is).

What the heck did you guys do!!?? Why can't i get rid of the trigger bar? I liked it not being seen. Also, how do i disable app labels in the folders? It is so tacky looking and takes up more space. I dont like it. Please fix. Thanks.

It's really good. The only thing that annoys me is that you cannot swipe it back off the screen. Also can you put in a choice to use an icon to go to the next pages. Scrolling between pages is very annoying.

Needs support for choosing a custom icon from photos. Some icon packs don't have icons for apps I use, so I made custom ones that Nova supports. Would like support for loading icons from a file manager or photos app. Thanks

Awesome and WAY better than Samsung's built in "Edge" panels!!! Originally I downloaded on my tablet so that it too could have the "Edge" swiping function just like my phone.. Instead, I ended up downloading on my phone also and enabling the built in Edge screens - Keep up the great work!

Overall the app is pretty good, It is quite useful and responsive. The only thing I would like to see changed is a swipe gesture to close the panel (i.e. if it is on the right, swiping right will close it instead of switching panel).

as someone who came from the Note Edge to tab s3 i was looking for an app to simulate the edge experience. this apo is the only one i found that comes anywhere close AND looks good. i will definitely upgrade to pro . the only problem i have is that the glovebox unread widget isnt working in combination with the pullout, and that you cant use the home button to hide the pullout, and swiping it away generates copies of the pullout. if these get fixed, that would be a solid 5 star from me :)

I hate the new update so much I downloaded a bootleg copy of the og app!!!!! Update: I have updated to the newest version of this app and I like it. I just wish I could make the icon spacing less and the trick area longer

Real neat and useful especially because I appreciate an uncluttered home screen and I multitask a lot. I use it all the time. But I have a suggestion; the folder option should include a color palette for a background with transparency when opened. Some white icons are not visible in the said folder.

Wow! You guys have done a good job in destroying glovebox ????????. I have been using it for a long time, and it was one of my favorite. And I always recommended it to others. 'Metro Swipe ' ? A big ???? NO. If you devs/designer brought back glovebox features , then I will consider this app again. Till then ????.

I purchased the app when it was glove box, since then this app developed to one amazing app. I used to forget to install the prior app at times, but this one I miss it if I haven't installed it. What I am wondering, I paid for the prior app, this one is free I think... So either it's a good thing or a bad thing (I paid for the app, but now its free) but either way I'm delighed with its function

Developer - I have the sidebar set to only show up on my home screen and app drawer which is perfect. However, when I enter and exit the camera app on my pixel 2, the sidebar completely disappears until I open and close another app. Please fix. Other than that, it's a great app which I'm happy to support with the paid version

It's pretty great! There are some things I think could be improved, but honestly, this is the closest thing to an Ubuntu launcher there is. Just curious if there will be any more updates? I bought it, and figured there'd be constant development, but it's been pretty quiet as of late.

Is a great app, but i do have a strange bug, i have the home button set to trigger it on the home screen but it is switching the sides it's opening on. Initially it was the right now it's on the left. Any chance to have an option to force one side?

DOES NOT WORK ON S8. I loved this on my S7 forever, unfortunately regardless permissions or always on notification bar it crashes every time you lock the phone. turn it back on you have to disable and renenable quickly for it to work. Still using it like that albeit tedious, please fix

Nice app when its working, except for one major problem. Every time the phone sleeps the "Enable Accessibility" disengages and I have to set it all over again, therefore that renders the app useless unfortunately. Please let me know when you fix this problem as I like the app very much and would absolutely use it once its rectified. Thx

A good swipe launcher where it helps me multitask to my mostly used apps. There's an instructions to make sure this swipe app running well without interruption. The only downside is the icon chooser in this app is awful and developer add an option to let users use "icon pack" app to choose more icons. Anyway, it's just good.

I regret that I bought the full version, please add more customisation. There's an app similar to this in Play Store, BUT FREE?!?. How come? Maybe add People integration. The mere fact this is more value than Nova ;(((. Add text customisation

Ahh.. functionality as before.. Flipping home screen to find shortcuts and widgets on a phablet is quite annoying sometimes and using one hand is impossible most of the times for small handed. This app helps out alot.. one hand scrolling....floating widgets!!!.. trigger and close..as many like. missed counts on all reted apps is the big extra im waiting for

Hii, It's an great app and usefull too.The only problem occur when I use it in my new phone OPPO F1S. When the app is not running in the background, the side launcher disappears! Is there any way to fix this? I wish in your next update you will make the app work even when it is not running in the background.

Bad experience... App automatically disabling when I clear the RAM in my Xiomi Redmi 3S. Even I have given all the permissions and auto-start permission too. Please fix it... please...I am waiting!!!

Nice app.. and this help me to reduce app widgets clattered on my homescreen. But one thing that i noticed that the pluggin Glovebox Unread doesnt work.. even if i already eneable all the settings..

I only use one page of apps so it would be nice if I could swipe to close the sidebar instead of swiping to the same page of apps over and over, will give 5 stars for this feature. Otherwise it's a perfect alternative to the default Samsung Apps Edge and has great customisation

It's a great app! However, it always disables "draw over other apps" whenever I go on google cardboard. And when i try to enable it, it doesn't register it as having been enabled. Please fix this huge bug. Other than that, it's a great app for someone lazy like me!

Been using Glovebox for a long time. Had no serious complaints, functioned & served its purpose. The new UI looks good, but already have had issues. It needs a sensitivity setting (not just for corner launch). I have it set to widest "width", and w the case on my phone it's very hard to activate on the fly. Loading time w in settings also seems very slow; ie, loading apps, themes, etc. Given how great Glovebox has been, I'm sure there's updates coming and these issues will be worked out...

Works nicely, but I have 2 things I don't like. First, I wish there was a way to swipe close the panel if I decide not to open an app and secondly I don't like that when I tap to open an app the title of the app pops up, it's really annoying.

Wait a minute. You want me to get pro version just to be able to add more than 8 apps ? Sorry but that's just lame.There are other apps on the store that allow adding lot more apps in the panel. Not happy.

Works as advertised except it doesn't let you swipe to close it. Seems like a minor error but it's extremely frustrated when you swipe to open but can't swipe to close. Otherwise, it's highly customizable and easy.

Awesome, I tried a few others and came back to this. It's simple, unobtrusive and works really well for me, I didn't want masses of options, this is just the right mix. Good work!

Regretted that I purchased this one. Hasn't been updated for a few months and the developer does not respond to the issue I reported.
