About Shiny Gears Free LWP
Shiny Gears Live wallpaper is a fully 3d real time procedurally animated abstract and mesmerizing gear system that constantly spins on your phones background.
It gives an impression of depth to your phones background. If android's had an engine.. It might look something like this!
NOTE: Modifying the settings for this wallpaper requires a double tap on the home screen. Going through the live wallpaper menu will crash the wallpaper which will require reloading it.
NOTE2: I am working to optimize this wallpaper! there will be settings with additional options as time goes on.
This abstract and mesmerizing wallpaper has a few options you can adjust to personalize it. Here's what you can do:
- Change the color and intensity of the two lights above and below the gear system.
- Change the animation style of the gears, choose between smooth and restless. If you've downloaded my 3d hypnotic rings wallpaper you'll be somewhat familiar with what these two settings mean, visually :)
- Change the overall speed of the gears with a slider ranging from dead stop, to quite rapid.
This wallpaper was made with the unity game engine, which is optimized from the get go for mobile and the code as as optimized as well.

This thing is very cool! I love the smooth rendering, light effects, and model complexity. But ask that comes at a cost: it's consuming at least 5% CPU on my Note3 all the time. It also occasionally lags the phone up until a different wallpaper is chosen. Maybe it could be optimized?

Looks really nice but it DOES cause the phone to lag when moving between home screens, the app drawer or applications. I might buy the paid version if I thought the dev was planning on fixing it. 6 months and no updates even though the lag issue has been brought up in more than once. I'll keep the free version and buy it when (if) it gets updated.

Causes my phone to lag a bit. Not sure why. I even tried reatarting the phone and letting it run a bit. Great start. Very promising.
