RSS / Ticker Live Wallpaper for Android
Sounds ok? Well it's better than that, because not only can you personalise the text which scrolls across the display... you can set the text to be the headlines from a standard RSS feed.
What is RSS? Well, all major news sites have RSS feeds, so you can get up to date news and sports headlines on your phone.
The app has built in presets for cnn, sky, bbc and many more. You can select from this set OR enter your own url and use that instead!
Whilst the news text is scrolling across the screen, you can double tap the display and a web browser will open showing the full news story from it's original website.
But there's more...this wallpaper is heavily customisable, allowing the user to change:
The text colour.
The scroll speed.
The number of RSS headlines to display.
The speed at which the dimmer fades in.
The orientation of the ticker ( portrait or landscape ).
Whether to display just RSS headlines or headlines and text.
The frequency at which the feed is consulted for updates ( helps save battery and bandwidth ).
The wallpaper has an in-built dimming function which helps ensure you can see your icons at all times.
Excellent for those who wish to keep in touch, you can sit you phone on your desk at work and the news is discreetly right in front of you all the time...
Works great on a phone...looks superb on a tablet!
