About Digital Blasphemy Wallpapers

*** IMPORTANT: Google sent a note that the version of Cordova used by this app has a security vuln associated with it. Version 2 of this app is in the works, but needs a few more weeks dev time. ***

** NOTE: A subscription is required for most of the larger resolutions and the free resolutions may be a bit small for tablets. **

*** If you are having a problem, email me or use the form built into the app. Reviews that say, “it doesn't work" don't help anybody. ***

Digital Blasphemy is a website full of computer art created by Ryan Bliss. He's managed to make a living creating art! This is the official (but fan made) app for the site. Ryan didn't write this app, but he provided feedback and design requests all throughout the development process. Ryan and Digital Blasphemy do not provide support for this app!

This app will assist in downloading DB images and help to set them as the wallpaper in your launcher. It will let you rate images and post comments (if you have a subscription and are signed in). It will also let you read the current site news and comments regardless of whether you're signed in.

*** You do need a subscription (which costs extra and is not included) to download most of the image resolutions. To see what you're missing, check out Clockwork 2011. Ryan made Clockwork free for users of the app, regardless of subscription status. ***

The only image resolutions listed and available will be the mobile images (and some others) that are free on the website. Once a username is provided, the rest of the image resolutions will be available. Also, if you have not provided a username, the ratings button, comment button and various other UI interfaces will be hidden.

There's still an awful lot on the todo list, but we think the app does a pretty good job with comments, news, ratings and downloading the images. If you have problems, let me know, and I'll try to fix it as soon as I can.

Hi! My name is Paul and I'm the developer. I have fixed all the bugs I could find, so if you're having a problem, it's most likely that I can't see it. If you report bugs via the Play Store ratings, then I really can't help you. If I could see the bug, I would have fixed it! In nearly all cases I will require further information. I will be reading the ratings comments though, so feature requests there are acceptable; just, please, not bug reports.

You can contact me about bugs and feature requests through an interface built right into the app. You can also email me using the support address provided in the Play Store. Please don't contact Ryan about the app unless it's to tell him how awesome I am as a developer.

Please take it easy on me too. I don't expect to make much money on on this app. I'm splitting it with Ryan (50/50), Google, and the IRS. I did this for fun in my spare time. Please keep it fun!

-Paul

Great app, just needs to be redesigned and have an option to always download the latest updated metadata file!

X70%
by X####:

I use a samsung galaxy alpha and love the digital blasphemy art. However when I load a wallpaper, it looks as if I am zoomed in on the center of the image and the definition is low. My phone has a nice high resolution screen and I would like to use it.

X70%
by X####:

The UI is in desperate need of an overhaul. It's still got the appearance of an app from Android 2.3. Other than the UI, it works well and provides easy access to my subscription wallpapers from DB. I can't wait for the new update. Hopefully there's a UI overhaul too.

Totally love your imagination

I love the wallpapers, its just that this app will not give me any option for high resolution screen on my Note 4

Awesome app and site

U70%

The user interface is a little outdated, but otherwise this works brilliantly for downloading images from my DB subscription. In combination with a Tasker script I wrote I now have a random DB image on my home screen every hour

I am a long time, LIFETIME, member (which means I paid GOOD MONEY) of the digital blasphemy website. I PAID for this app (also), typed in my user name and password into the preferences page of this app, and it will not let me down load HD wall papers. It tells me that I must be a member and gives me a button that says "dang" I have a different word in mind.

Ryan consistently creates 3d digital art in a variety of subject matter responding to feedback from his followers for improvement. His work can be found on all devices I use.

Could use some sprucing up, but otherwise keep up the good work!

U70%

Love the ease of use. This app makes it very easy to enjoy all of Ryan's artwork on my phone. Great work.

U70%

Really sweet app. Very easy to see what Ryan has been doing and fantastically easy to download wallpapers and install them (which was not so straightforward via a browser). Responsive and helpful developer as well.

A perfect app to go along with my Digital Blasphemy subscription. Makes it so much easier getting the wallpapers to my devices. Thank you.

I'd say if you subscribe to DB then you will want to get this app. It makes getting these wallpapers onto your phone super easy.

I have a lifetime membership and have used Digital Blasphemy images as wallpapers before on my phone, but this app just makes it so much easier. I love the easy access to the pictures and I change my wallpaper a lot more than I used to.

I've been a life time subscriber to Digital Blasphemy since Ryan first offered the option. I love this tool that allows me to enjoy his work on my phone & tablet as easily as I can on the PC.

I was having trouble loading metadata on my galaxy tab and they fixed it right away. App itself has many high quality pictures that you would hope it would.

so far I'm loving it! it makes it so much easier to change my background on a whim. As far as functioning goes I can't think of anything to improve. Appearance wise it's not "pretty" but why does the app need to be the wallpapers are! I've been a DB member since I first found you back in the 90s LOL and have loved having your images on every computer and device I could figure out how to get them onto. I've turned fellow students, coworkers, my teachers everyone I can onto your site and I hope that they all continue to support you in making these amazing pictures.

Love the new app. Bought a lifetime membership and this app makes it so convenient to download and set my wallpaper. Highly recommended. Verizon SGS3.

Works great on my Epic 4G Touch (SPH-D710), just wish there was an option either in preferences or during the download action to choose where to put the file, I use a dedicated folder for wallpapers.

This is great. Thank you. Never mind about other dimensions. I realized I needed to exit and re-enter after entering user data. Awesome app.

U70%
by U####:

This is a great app! I really like that it's simple in design, easy to navigate, and runs fast with no lag! The wallpapers are very easy to choose your resolution and setting them is a breeze. Highly recommended for current DB members. Worth the dollar to buy.

K70%

Never had good backgrounds on my phone because even when downloading correct res, phone would want to take a tiny part of the image and make it pixellated. Easy now

W70%

The app is solid now and fantastic. There are quirks, but the developer is fantastic and very responsive. Top marks!

I70%
by I####:

I love Digital Blasphemy's artwork (they're the only wallpapers I use on my PC) and am so thrilled to have an easy way to view and download them to my phone. The app is simple and easy to use, no frills, but it doesn't need them. It makes it so easy to change wallpapers whenever I want. I do have one suggestion: I love Ryan's "pickle jar" variations and I would like to be able to see them in this app. Even without the pickle jar this app is great, and well worth the $1!

This app should have been free in the first place. Nothing special about it. The scrolling is laggy and is not smooth as it should have been.. poorly coded obv. With abc skills.

I'm sure this is great, but after starting a new account today and loving it on my pc, got this for my phone. Using my user name and password the screen stays stuck on loading 0/0...What's going wrong?

C70%
by C####:

All the available resolutions are for tiny, obsolete devices. If you need a subscription to the website regardless, then this app should be free. I have an HTC one, so obviously a 640x480 image is going to be useless. If the app is going to be paid, you should offer more HD wallpapers for app buyers. As far as I know, Clockwork is the only usable wallpaper here, and it's too high contrast to even see my icons anyway. Basically, just a waste of $2 at this point.

I had been a subscriber to the Digital Blasphemy site a few years ago, which still stands as one of the best resources that I ever had for good high quality wallpapers that worked well with a multiple monitor configuration on the desktop. Discovering today that there's a decently priced app that can let me use them on my android devices led me to subscribing again. I don't hand out a lot of reviews and almost NEVER go so far as to include one in my G+ feed, but this one and the website can't get enough.

I'm loving this app. I get the best of Ryan's work. I love it.

Could use some sprucing up. Also, it doesn't always seem to have the newest wallpapers...

Thank you Paul for the time you spent putting this website together. Ryan's artwork speaks for itself. I've been a fan of Digital Blasphemy for years and it just keeps getting better.

Been a DB fan n subscriber for almost 15 years now. Love everything Ryan does even if I'm not a fan of a piece it's still beautiful n so realistic. My only complaint is with the app. Why is it that the app database doesn't match the website? Take the latest piece "Automaton" it has been on the site almost a week now but the app doesn't show it even if I force a DB metadata update?

M70%

This all makes it so much easier to have my favorites on my phone too. In love it!

The perfect companion to Ryan's site if you have a mobile device. I use it on my phone (gnex) and tablet (nex10).

Bought this a while back and was horribly disappointed by the low res images. Checked back in tonight and it's now working in full res glory. Love it!
