Cute Ribbon Key Chains Ideas

hello, Hope you all are having a great week! Today we will be sharing a really easy and fun diy project with you, vintage ribbon key chains. You only need a little material and some hardware to create one of these. What’s even cooler is you can whip one up in under ten minutes!

Here’s What You Need:
- *1.25″ Cotton Webbing (you might bring yours Here)
- *1″ or smaller vintage ribbon or trim
- *1.25″ Key Fob Hardware ( you might bring yours Here)
- *Sewing Machine and Thread
- *Pliers
- *Soft Cloth

Instructions:
1. The first thing you need to do is cut your ribbon and webbing down. You will cut them to 9 or 10 inches long.

Lay your ribbon on top of your webbing. If you want a little extra help holding the ribbon in place you can iron on some stitch witchery between the ribbon and webbing.

Stitch down the ribbon. you may  stitch about a sixteenth to an eight inch away from the edge of the ribbon. Stitch up one side, then across the bottom, and then back up the opposite side of the ribbon.

Fold the webbing in half. Line up the raw edges of the webbing and staystitch the ends closed, stitching close to the edge so you can hide the stitching under the hardware.

Clip all excess threads. Insert the stitched edge of the webbing into the fob hardware and center it inside the hardware the best you can.

Now, carefully cover the hardware with a soft cloth, and then squeeze the hardware closed with your pliers. Make sure you get the whole clamp and squeeze the edges well.

Now you can add the key ring onto the metal clamp. You can use a nail file or screwdriver to help you get the ring on. I found it pretty easy to do with just my thumbnail.

Now add your keys and enjoy!

note:
You can find vintage ribbon and trims all over etsy as well as your local thrift store or flea market. There are some amazing patterns! You can of course use any kind of ribbon you like as well. These would make great gifts for birthdays or holidays! They are so easy and fun to make! You’ll want to make a whole batch!
