Pixoclock Amoled LED Clock for Android
This app is brilliant! Just what I was looking for! Displays the time on a black screen so you don't even have to wake the phone up to see. Ideal for if you have a dock on your desk!
Does the job but clock looks too small. Especially when you wake up in the night, can be tricky to focus on.
You can only change the color. Not all the settings I was hoping for. I hoped on getting the clock to draw above the lock screen, for example. Not worth the money IMO.

If you have an Amoled screen and are using wireless Qi charging at night, your battery may not charge fully with an always on clock. This app does the trick beautifully and simply. Simple digital clock that floats around to thwart screen burn, with the rest of your pixels blacked out and not sucking up juice! Works like a charm! Active and helpful developer too!

Please find a way so that the screen appears when I lock the screen, just like what nokia did with its symbian phones. Right now the screen is not locked and it makes no sense to me.

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy 3s after having a Nokia X7, which ran on Symbian. Nokia offered a great app called the Nokia Sleeping Screen, which took advantage of the AMOLED screen's ability to just light up the pixels needed to show you the time. This app is the only one I've found that runs on Android that does this! The time keeps moving, which prevents screen burn-in, and it's VERY battery-friendly. Also, there are no ads! I keep this screen saver on while I'm sleeping so I can look over and see the time in the middle of the night without having to pick up the phone and find buttons. The time display can be adjusted from a dark blue to a white font just by tapping the screen. I really recommend this app for anyone who uses their cell phone as a desk clock, bedside clock, or instead of a wristwatch. The developer is also friendly, helpful, and responds quickly to answer questions.
