About Swift Dark Substratum Theme +Oreo & Samsung theme
Swift Dark Substratum theme makes more than 160 apps dark and supports the following systems:
• Android 8 / Oreo
• OnePlus ( supports OnePlus 3, 3T & 5 )
• Samsung (supports S7, S8, S8+ & Note 8)
• Nexus
• Pixel
• LineageOS
+ option to select your favourite accent!

Instructions and important information:
INSTALLATION: Make sure your system supports the use of a Substratum theme. Download the Substratum theme engine app and the theme, open up the Substratum app and you’ll find the theme inside. Open it and select your Android version in the menu at the top. Select the apps you want to theme and hit install. Wait until all overlays are installed and then reboot. UPDATING: When you updated the theme from Play Store, you reinstall the overlays in the same manner as you installed them. Don’t forget to reboot after you update the overlays.
PROBLEM SOLVING: If an app stops working, you need to reinstall the overlay for that app and reboot. This is required as an overlay needs to be applied on top of an app. For exemple, when you update an app from Play Store, the overlay won't be on top anymore. When you reinstall the overlay, and reboot, you will make sure it is again. This is just how overlays works and a suggestion is that you turn off auto updates and update your apps when there is an update of the theme. Usually we update every 4-5 days.
SAMSUNG & ANDROMEDA: The Andromeda and Samsung theme requires an extra, paid, plugin for the theme to work. You’ll be noticed about it the first time you open the Substratum app on one of these systems. For Samsung users, you must remove all overlays before updating your system to avoid issues.
ROOT is not needed for Samsung, Andromeda (Pixel & Nexus) or OMS systems. Other systems needs root.

Thanks for the quick response on how to fix the text in Allo. I have a new problem, though! Messenger Lite and sometimes the Google search bar have a big vertical black stripe on the top right of the screen. It goes away when I uninstall the theme. Using an Essential phone though so not sure if that's related as it's not officially supported.

Killer app. Makes my phone easy on the eyes without making it pure black. Current iteration is causing YouTube to force close when using search functionality, though. Disabled theme for that app and it's working. Can't wait for it to be back to black. Thanks!

Really cool dark theme. It works fine with my Galaxy Note 8 and make my phone looks beautiful. The latest update make Google search feed stop working on 7.14. It just show the search bar with no feed below. Hopefully, Devs have the fix for this soon. I did try to reinstall and reboot twice but it still doesn't work.

The theme is really nice and I own 3 themes (Black, dark and Swift for S8). My only problem is that since a few updates the themes always disappear when I reboot my phone and I always need to reapply them. It only stays for WhatsApp but Youtube, Discord won't stick

I love this theme, but there's just one problem. Gboard crashes whenever I open emojis, press the Google icon, or try to change the theme. I'm on the original Pixel, rootless, Android Oreo, with Andromeda. Please fix this! I love using Gboard and Swift Keyboard isn't as good! EDIT: WORKING NOW! ????

So far this is my favorite and most used Substratum theme. It would be nice if the core had a few more colors and this theme like most others does not theme Google Hangouts and Hangouts Dialer properly.

Definitely deserves the 5 star rating. Works great on my Note 8. Amazing job! Just wanted to say thanks but also point out that on the latest Gmail update, Gmail is force closing. I tried uninstalling the overlay, rebooting, reinstalling, clearing theme cache, etc. and problem still persists. Same is happening with the new FB Messenger version. I'm guessing a theme update is necessary?

*updated review* Pretty much as perfect as it can be, with updates to the themed apps unavoidably and temporarily breaking things here and there (like how Contacts now crashes whenever I tap on a contact on the list). Very impressed with the fast updates/fixes though, keep it up! :)

Not worth persistent maintenance for S6. The views aren't worth installing an overlay each time to use common applications. It's hard to send you the app crash report for Instagram when Google controls them. Forget trying to uninstall, made it worse. Only thing that got my phone back to stable was backup and factory reset.
