BITS is a DIY home screen widget creator with a WYSIWYG editor that allows you to make your own multi-functional widgets. You can add, remove, edit, arrange, re-size and color bits of information on the widget face. Each bit can be set to launch any shortcut when touched.
Create a widget that shows the time, date and current weather conditions and then assign shortcuts so that touching the time opens a clock app, touching the date opens a calendar app, and touching the weather opens up a weather app. Or, load a photograph from the SD card and assign a shortcut so that touching that photo automatically calls that person, sends a text message, or opens that person’s phone book record.
The Pro version of BITS is also completely integrated with Tasker, with the ability to show the value of any variable in Tasker and to have Tasker trigger on-screen updates.
Each widget created with BITS can show information from a unique location which can be set using GPS or manually locked to a single location. One widget can show time and weather where you are while another shows the time and weather "back home" or somewhere else.

Very difficult to use. Wanted to delete the clock and found no way to do so. Instructions say to use device menu to delete. My device has no menu and there was nothing amongst their menus called device menu. I have Droid Maxx which has settings menu, not device, and the settings can't be accessed from widget customization box.

This app has potential. My problem with it was not being able to span one action over multiple lines of text. "Next alarm time" all in a 1x1? Nope.

So far I've had it all with the app. The high point was realizing it works with SPB shell because as nice as it is, the widgets are limited and these are nice. The low point was changing my rom and losing pro options. BUT, the designer did respond and its working again! Its hard not to give it 5 stars because I've found nothing else like it. It hangs up sometimes while adding bits and I had to use a task killer to stop it. But I am going to buy another copy for my tablet because its very worth every cent

Does exactly what I was looking to do -- gives me a round widget that displays sun/moon phase, that I can put underneath an analog clock. Easy to use; will be getting pro version for sure.

You can customize just about anything for your screen! You use less but can have just about everything there with just the touch of a finger! Very convenient. I love it!

Very good - love the customisation capabilities, the ability to create a style that fits with your own design and colours. For the cost of some other fixed widgets, you can create your own. What's not to love about that. Hope to see more capabilities added over time.

I have tried to use Bits several times since it was released and I see no improvements at all. The interface is terrible, can't center text or even place static text. Buttons are tiny and impossible to press accurately on HD device. Quickly started eating power. Lacks a lot of features is a pain to use.

This is a great app. It would be perfect for me if there was an option to show the forecasted high and low temps for the day.

I absolutely love this app. I have an EVO Shift 4G, and although the stock HTC time/weather widget is very nice (and much coveted--see Beautiful Widgets), I wanted something clean, light, and elegant. I found it with BITS.Time, date, Sun/Moon, and temp are all I need (though you can add so much more), and I like the customization feature (various fonts and sizes). Finally, great support, too. Just. Buy. It.

Finally found a way to have wind speed/direction accompany my transparent weather widget. Hell, I even threw in sunrise & sunset times to boot. Thx all involved. Always wished I could replace the date w/wind info in the widgets; This comes close.

I like "Make your own clock" much better. I thought this would be better because you can apply any shortcut to any bit. Until I tried to do that. I had to restart my phone 3 times because it froze while building an apps list. And there is no forecasting temperature bits. Hi/Lo temp is a must. UNINSTALLED !!!
