About Better Launcher (KitKat based)
Better Launcher is a new home screen replacement app for Android 4.1+ . It's based from the Launcher app from Android 4.4 (code name KitKat), you can find the base version as "Google Now Launcher" in the play store, it supports all the functions of the home app in Android 4.4:
• Performance and stabilities optimizations from Android 4.4
• Dynamic home screen management (home screens are added/removed as they are needed)
• Homescreen interface enhancements from Android 4.4
Better Launcher added many enhancements, here are some highlights:
Main features:
• Ok, Google - Use Google Search's hotword right from the home screen, just say "Ok, Google" to start. (This feature uses the Google search app, make sure the hotword detection is supported on your device in Google search)
• Scrollable dock with up to 9 icons per page and up to 5 pages
• Enhanced performance and stabilities over the default launcher
• Tons of fun animations, effects and other eye candy
• Homescreen gestures (pinch, swipe up/down, double tap)
• Theme engine compatible with many Launcher themes, including GO Launcher, Adw Launcher, Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher, Holo Launcher etc
• Change folder preview, icon size, animation speed, and many other things that you won't be able to change with the default launcher
• Unread Counts
• Backup/restore settings and data

• Better Launcher only use those permissions that it needs in order to work correctly. It does not and will never abuse these permissions.

• Internet/Network State/Wifi State: Anonymous error/usage reporting, update checks
• Directly call phone numbers: Only used if you place a direct-dial shortcut on the homescreen.

Transition between the screens is smooth and has no problems with multiple widgets. The launcher is more reliable than other desktop managers. Transition between portrait and landscape is easier and smoother than others. Customisation is better controlled with variable features. Great work!

Hi team, As its name, its better than any other launcher!! i should say, better than Nova too. Excellent concept, well executed. Very unique break-up of the desktop into 2 parts. No need of additional Dock!! Also very light too! Only addition i'd suggest is the support for Dynamic Calendar Icons. Also please remove the Navigation Bar. Please add these features. Thank in advance. Keep up the good work!!

I have noticed that when swiping left to see the Google Now page, it "opens" the Google search app instead of the normal page, like in the original launcher; so swiping right is no an option. Is this due to a Google restriction, or would this be corrected in the future? Keep up the good work!

Great start. So far it is stable and almost there functionality wise. On that point I only have few comments. Have the option to turn off bounce back. That is the most annoying thing. Need to have the option to have folders and adjust icon size in the App drawer. Also, be able to drag app drawer folder to home screen and keep them in sync, like Go launcher or Nova, so if you later move another app into that folder in drawer it automatically shows up in folder copy on the home screen.

Works well with the exceptional better dash clock widget. Which is well worth the 80p, great value easily the best customisable dash and a free home launcher! Give it a go, you wont be disappointed.

The UI is great. It's fast, smooth, and pretty. However, it's missing the transparent status bar on the homecreen. I'd like to see it added at some point, please. The UI look is completed by this feature. Other than that, please keep up the good work!

Its really fast and doesn't drain battery like other launchers nice work guysits faster than nova and if you don't believe me its faster and better than buzz launcher I think this Is going to be the first thing I'll Download if I get a new phone which I have a zte 4.4 I love the work don't giveup I believe yous
