About Orbitals LWP & Daydream (Free)

Watch as planetary systems pop into existence and interact with each other through gravity, or touch the screen to add your own systems! Objects can collide with one another and will explode into smaller objects when they get too large.

This free version has options to change the maximum number of objects generated and frame rate (for performance reasons), and options for visual aids like dot trails left behind objects. Objects can be any colour, the background is black and all systems types can spawn. A daydream (screensaver) is now also included with the same limitations but different default settings.

Get the full version to unlock options for colours, system generation, lockscreen, physics, clock, notification, custom backgrounds and more!

There are no adverts in either version.

NOTE: The demo video is of the first release of the full version. Many features have been added to that since - please see the full version page for more information.

To set the live wallpaper, long press on your home screen, choose 'Wallpapers', then find 'Orbitals Free' under 'Live Wallpapers'. You can also find it under 'Display' in your device settings menu.

To set the daydream go to Settings > Display > Daydream and choose 'Orbitals Free' (requires Android 4.2 Jellybean or above). This is also where you will find the preferences menu for the daydream mode.

Awful...

It's tough to find live wallpapers that are simple but visually interesting, smooth, and attractive, and this fits the bill. Definitely check out the paid version as well... it only took me a couple minutes to decide to upgrade, and I'm glad I did.

It was good before the last two updates the design and physics became worse

U70%
by U####:

Hi. I like this app because I use it while charging and it prevents my phone from experiencing possible screen burn-in. However, this update made things worse: the orbital movements seem out of nowhere and it's not as smooth (movement-wise) as they used to... I don't know if that's a bug OR it's the phone's performance issue(s). To the developer: Thank you very much for the reply; I'll rate this to 5 stars. :)

Drains my battery BAD

If you haven't already checked this out I advice so, and I'm going to buy it too soon! I just stare at it all day!

Q70%

I like this so much. I'm normally so tight that I only buy the free apps (!) but after less than 5 mins with the free version installed, I'm going pro. A whole 60p, too...

R70%
by R####:

The orbs really follow the law of gravity with larger orb changing the trajectory of the approaching smaller orbs. Fantastic. Good work!

L70%
by L####:

Saw it on reddit :) I love love love this concept, my only suggestion is to be able to slow it all down, so that it actually appears to resemble a solar or even atomic system ! Emphasis on the gravity, less on the collisions.

Looks great, especially on an amoled display.
