Exploding Live Wallpaper

A spinning and exploding field of plates creates a simple, yet aesthetically pleasing and exciting, live wallpaper experience. Choose from a grid of randomly colored plates, have the grid be created from one of several included images, or load a custom image.


Exploding Live Wallpaper makes use of Opengl ES 2.0, and is heavily optimized for performance, battery life, and memory usage. There are no ads and no special permissions required, which makes for an unobtrusive user experience.

Notes on loading custom images:
This feature allows you to use images stored on your device (it will not load images from a network). These images could be your photos or art, or it could be images downloaded from the internet, such as icons from programs/apps, pixel art from your favorite retro games, cartoon characters, or whatever else you can find. The recommended file format for images is .png.

The grid generated also takes into account transparent pixels in images, and will not create plates for pixels that are over halfway transparent (several included examples demonstrate this).

To ensure that your images work smoothly on your device, scale images yourself in an image manipulation program before loading them.

There is an issue with Android's image scaling software with certain types of .jpg files that can cause scaling issues. A workaround has been implemented to prevent the wallpaper from crashing with these files, but the image might appeared cropped as a result. It's recommended that all jpg files be resaved as .png images before use.
