Chris grew up with Beth Tezuka, Danny Vasquez, and Wallow, and was friends with them even as an infant. He and his parents lived in the Invisible Hideout along with Johnny Tezuka and Beth.

Chris was best friends with Beth even then, and their tradition of movie nights, as first mentioned in Merewif Tag, began in childhood. He and Beth would even ride on her Paralyzed Horse together.
