Apex Launcher Pro for Android
Tried a few others including next and go. They have nothing on this. The user has full control over the custom settings. Awesome settings, cool effects, and doesn't lag the system like the others do. One complaint: sometimes, when I open an icon folder, all the icons will be missing so I close it and reopen and they return. Might want to check into that. ( full version user here ) DEFINITELY worth buying. So I did...
I've been using this app for a few months now. I really like it but there are issues with the notification settings. It works ok for a day or so but then I no longer see the no. of missed calls or unread messages/emails. I have to restart the phone to make it work again. And this feature is the only reason why I installed the Pro version. I like this launcher very much but hope they fix this bug.
Its almost the same as KK Launcher, 99% similarities, except Apex Launcher does not have "turn off screen" option on the "home button".. i wish you can consider to include, as its very useful.. overall, its a very good and productive launcher alternative.. I think the developer has abandoned this apps since no visible update have been done to date..
Apex launcher(as well as the pro version) has become my favorite go to launcher. I tried action 3 launcher and was thoroughly disappointed. It crashed on me several times. I went right back to Apex. Apex offers deeper customization and a more refined look and feel that I haven't seen in other launchers. Thanks to the Devs who created this no-nonsense launcher.
I have used stock Android launchers on various phones as well as Google Now and a couple of others from the Play Store. They all have their strengths. They all lured me away from iOS. I enjoyed all of them on some level. Apex Launcher Pro runs quickly and smoothly. It is full featured and flexible. It lets you be a power user, or a casual user - or somewhere in between. It's easy and useful. The BEST fit I've ever had.
Don't ever change the status bar shadow, it's perfect! I switched from Nova Pro to Apex Pro simply because the shadow isn't dark enough on Nova. Apex well worth the money. I did drop a star because the keep in memory option puts a banner notification. Understandable, but my phone is rooted and the app should the advantage of that.
I love this launcher, it's one of a kind and customisable to however you want it (within reason). However I have come across a problem in the App drawer since the last update where the pages of my apps seems to stack and the names of the apps aren't readable as there's two layers of text.
New phone, installed Apex which was great and had good features. Spent some time customising my home screen. Then my phone started rebooting constantly every 15-30 mins. Factory reset and started again with same result.i was about to return phone but did one last factory reset and this time didn't install Apex, no issue, phone didn't reboot once. After 7 stable days I thought I'd give Apex another go, 30 mins later phone was rebooting again. Uninstall and phone back stable. I had purchased pro version too.
Gestures don't support dropping down neither Notifications nor Quick Settings for Galaxy S6. It's surely TW specific limitation but it'd be nice if Apex could work around it. The best launcher otherwise.
Serves all my configuration needs and partners well with APW widgets on 8 screens. 1 issue with large screen 1080x1920 and 401 ppi the screens config window is scaled incorrectly and only the centre screen tile can be seen. Needs fixing?
I paid for this app and used to love it. The last few updates however have made it very unstable. It crashes and freezes constantly my phone runs hot and will lose battery percentage While it's charging. Removing apex launcher has rectified this issue. Returning to go launcher until these problems are resolved.
This is a very good Lancher! Hands down it beats touch wiz for my note 4. It covered all aspects for modifications and the way things transitioned. My only complaint is that they do not have a full calander widget. This is essential when you are constantly in need of a calander and are inputting tasks. I have emailed the programmers twice asking for some insight in the matter, but it seems like they have horrible costumer service. If you were able to respond to my emails I would give you a 5 star.
Let me start with, this is the best launcher I have used. It's worked great on multiple phones of mine. However, on my current phone (nexus 6p) the manage screen function crashes the launcher. I am unable to add, remove or change home screens. Not sure what the issue is. Could be with the phone or the app. A bug fix would make this app an easy 5/5 stars!
The description promises that the paid app includes unread counters when used with the additional notifier app unfortunately this functionality in not consistent. The launcher is also prone to crashing. What was also dissapointing is the developer ignores emails and the faq section of the developers website contains malware. Clearly the developer is only interested in taking your money. Look elsewhere is my advice unless you want to waste your money.
I am not sure why I am still getting ads when I bought the pro version. It's always the same ad from (clash of clans). I am really stating to get annoyed with it. I would love to get my money back because I will be switching to another theme with pro version. Thanks.
Edited: Love the features. Nicely simple but powerful gestures, good customization, landscape orientation. Unfortunately it now crashes. All the time. At least once an hour. I had set this aside after formerly loving it. Running Android 5.0 on a Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
Been using this launcher for years. No reason to ever switch. I do have a suggestion, I would really like to add shortcuts to an app group in my app drawer to home screens........or add a folder that links to an app group. This way I don't have to add apps to folders on my home screens, I just have to sort them in the app drawer. If this could be done that would be great.
Really nice app. Love the ability to lock screens and extra customization options. However despite installing the addon I have lost the notification counters. Not sure if this is linked to me also no longer always getting notication sounds when I received an email or text. Mixed bag of awesomeness and aggravation.
Three weeks ago my phone was make me very mad. Apps disappearing and moving. IPhone has settings for that. Research tells me it's a Launcher. Say WHAAAAAÀAT? Two weeks later everyone is saying-how you get your phone to look like that. The Big letters. The groupings. The colours. A big Learning curve. Actually the learning wasn't hard, bit time consuming but worth every second. If they gave me room I'd tell you a lot more. I tried. Roy
The only thing I'm having issues with is scroll detection/sensitivity on the homescreen and in the appdrawer. Sometimes I swipe horizontally and the page stays the same, my live wallpaper always detects my swipes so the issue must lay with Apex (experienced across multiple devices). A setting to change the sensitivity or simply a fix for the issue would be very welcome.
I've been using Apex for several years since I first moved to Android and had been loving it. However a few updates ago has caused the launcher to freeze in a black screen for several seconds when swapping from apps to the home screen. This is on my LG G3 both on Kitkat 4.4.2 and after the upgrade to Lollipop 5.0 recently. Please fix it as it's starting to become unusable.
Was good launcher but now I have to lower my stars. Funny thing is I am on the paid for version. And Co. E to find out that it installed a third party advertisement called "Feeling Lucky" wtf
I love the launcher and just how quick it is. As a recent converter from iOS to android I miss having the wallpaper parallax effect on my phone. I hope you guys could toss that in as a feature sometime soon, it'll definitely give you something the competition doesn't have
Sadly with various bugs springing up this developer has not been providing regular updates. Switched to Nova which thankfully has a layout importer which did a fairly good job of easing the transition with its apex layout import.
Upgraded to android 6.0 on S5 it got slow, i remembered i used apex long before. It got so well integrated its seemless, high performance. And turned my phone into a brand new power horse! PLUS the amazing features, purchased the pro as a THANK YOU
I absolutely love this launcher, so much so that I upgraded to the pro version. However, after the most recent update, the folders I have created do not open properly. Can you please try and correct this? Thanks!
This had been my launcher of choice for years. I've installed it on family and friend's phones, and three of my own. Sadly it appears the dev has abandoned the app and stopped all work. No updates in over a year, and the small, annoying, unfixed issues continue to pile up. A real shame for what was, in my opinion, the best launcher for a lot of years. Uninstalling today and learning to use Nova. If you're in the market for a launcher, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
APEX has a lot of really awesome features, but it seems a bit heavy on resource usage, and it requires one to manually export the configuration in order to restore (and doesn't restore widgets), which is a big nuisance... the app should let one login with Drive, Dropbox, or some other storage provider and regularly backup state there (or it should allow one to log in with a Google or Facebook account and backup/restore from their own servers keyed off the account).
So I broke down today and paid the $3.99 for the Pro version because I was tired of not having notifications for texts, calls, etc. After installing the Pro version, the messages and fb notification badges were completely wrong! Easy fix: go to settings--> applications--> application manager-->scroll over to "all"--> BadgeProvider-->clear data, then restart your phone. Except for this annoyance, love this launcher. Very customizable!
I Used to love Apex but nowadays it seems almost abandoned due to a lack of bug fixes and new updates. The app now crashes my Note 4 many times per day when returning to the home screen from any app. I install it eery week or so with clean android install to see if it will work again since I paid 5 bucks for it and would still prefer a working version to my current launcher but it never stops begging for reports (even after shutting them off) with each annoyingly taking 2 min & apparently go unnoticed.
But seeing issues lately. Can't add Bookmarks to homescreen and in reading the latest reviews it appears others are having more issues with little or no support. Maybe developers moved on. Sad. May try Nova if not resolved soon.
I've been waiting FOREVER. The folder preview used to give you one clean looking app, even though many were combined. Now all we get is a messy preview, showing edges of apps in folders. Many have complained about this, but even with all your fixes, you ignore one of the most important ones! We want our screen clean, not looking like a mess. WAITING...... For months (8?) on end :( Nexus 5. PS - I changed from five stars because you never ever fixed this.
I'll give it 5 stars if the devs fix swipe down gesture set for notification. It's currently not doing anything on my Note 4 with 5.0.1
I had to reset my phone so I'm in the process of setting up Apex launcher and all of my settings. Bought Pro long before the reset and now the option to custom sort the app drawer is not there anymore. I remember where the setting was, so it's not a matter of having forgotten. I wanted Apex WITH custom sort, so I feel like I wasted my money now that I no longer have this feature. Please either fix it or refund my purchase.
- can not group by dragging icons - new installs shouldn't land on an already organized desktop
I paid for the full version. But it doesn't work with all my widgets and sometimes widgets just disappear from the home screen. I need it to work with Google Calendar and it just doesn't. I like all the other levels of customization but I need my monthly calendar view.
When the android 5 battery saving mode is activated, icons disappear inside folders. And the first page of app drawer disappear. Also home screen over scroll effect doesn't look like the one in lollipop. It's been too long without a fix for this. Gonna find a different launcher.
When I select an app in custom sorting, it automatically scrolls up, so I am forced to only move apps to the first page; Sorting apps on page/pane 2 is not possible at all. Note: a couple of apps don't scroll up this way but most of them do... I'm on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0... Sorting in drawer is the ONLY reason I paid. Please fix or refund... I will update rating when fixed. I emailed you. I even offered to help test. Please respond thanks
I would give this app 4 or 5 stars if i didn't have an issue with the displayof folder content. I can create folders without a problem, but can't see the content/icons of the items in the folder once i open it - is there a fix for this?

This app gets the job done and does an amazing job of customizing my phone. I absolutely love it. My one feature request would be to add the Lollipop overscroll effect for the home screen. App has barely been updated in the past year. No Marshmallow update or bug fixes (folders appear completely blank on Power Saving mode).
