The molecule is electrically neutral group of two or more atoms held together by chemical bonds. The molecules are different from their ions absence of electric charge. However, in quantum physics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, the term molecule is used less often strictly applied as polyatomic ions.
Molecule as component substances are widely distributed in organic substances (and thus chemistry). They also make up the majority of the oceans and the atmosphere. However, most of the solids to know the world, including most of the minerals that make up the crust, earth core and mantle, contain many chemical bonds, but not identifiable molecules.
