Spades Free

Love this version! Have tried many of them. I feel like I'm really playing with friends! My partner cuts me and over bids, the other team under bids, it seems like a real card game. I get mad at my 'partner' sometimes and other times they get a high five. The Game functions very well, no glitches, and I love everything about it!!!! Five Stars!

Classic card game although some of the rules regarding points are ridiculous. You can easily adjust some of these rules to your liking. Love the ability to choose partners, although they always seem to have the most trumps, while you're stuck with a crappy hand. Good thing I'm a good player.

I know sometimes ppl don't make their bids but the players available as your partner miss bids too often and it be sooo obvious! This game also needs to offer re-deal! Lbvs I hate losing but hate getting set even more. I need my partnes to make their bids more times than not!

Love this game along with Gin from the same devs. Rarely ever had any problems and the ads are so small that you don't even notice them. One of my favorite games and the AI offers a good challenge for different skill levels.

Ads ruin the game. In response to AI Factory's response: As much as I might be able to contribute to ferreting out the ad providers that make the game so frustrating, please remember that it's a game, and as such, it's supposed to be entertainment for me - not work. I don't have the time to contact you every time you get a misbehaved advert. You need to take a proactive approach and analyse the adverts BEFORE they affect the app. I for one have uninstalled the program. Your AI is good enough, but you need to think about the user experience. NOTE: this has only started happening in the last few months or so. I'm adding a star in the hope that you'll fix this soon.

Stunk. Computer players are moronic. You can't play with nils. No players cover them. Might be ok for neophytes but a truly poor game for players.my bad. This is an edit. Just wanted to say my original assessment was far to kind. The designers should be put in straitjackets and fed with spoons. A mollion upgrades and it hasnw improved.

Some recent adds too intrusive. The force the add display for 5 seconds and then no "x" to close pop up. If this doesn't change back to basic adds with simple close, I will uninstall.

I question the AI's play sometimes when I've bid nil. It seems like it gets rid of good cards that can help me make the nil bid. Update. After more games I am know that some of the computer partners DO play cards that no real partner would play when you've bid nil. Just deleted the game.

This new update is crap. There isn't any way to set the game rules anymore. This is a DOWNGRADE NOT AN UPGRADE !!! Great fun,but needs more varients of the game.

I really like this game except the way the dice roll. It's fairly common to get the same exact roll over and over or the first couple of first rolls game after game or for the computer to hit doubles four or five times once in the last section of the board. I've complained about it and the standard "it's random" statement but it's far from it.

I feel that I'm playing against everyone. Partner makes stupid plays. They cut me when I already won the hand, don't return expected suite when they see you're cutting. Players are dumd, stupid & frustrating. I've tried every player they're all horrible!!!

Your partner plays against you. Game also appears to be rigged or possibly set to aid the losing opponents. You can undo and change your bid and opponent will change theirs. How is this possible if you are bidding your hand. Sometimes your partner changes bid and will cut you when unnecessary. Sometimes your partner will bid ridiculously high when there's No Way they should have placed such high bids. Lastly, could be fun if corrections are made.

Computer AI needs tweaking still; what idiot would choose to go Nil with the only Spade in the hand being the Jack of Spades; especially when your team is 40 points from winning. Implement ask/reward matrix for your AI so it can make a semi-intelligent choice before going Nil.

Basically OK game. Have switched partners, turned aggressive bid on/off and no noticeable change. Several partner 1 bid overbids in a row forces me to underbid, resulting in too many bags. Partner nil bid with face card and no (or one) low card or after I bid very low indicating I cannot protect a nil bid. Poor timing of risky nil bid losing large lead when losing a 1 bid would protect lead/win. Ads like toy drop covering full page and popping up twice before play can begin, have been more frequent.

The one thing that irritates me about this game is your partner either over or under bids their hands. Yet, throw away winning cards that forfeit a win. This game is systematically set up for your opponent to win.

This Spades game continues to do an admirable job with few AI issues. Ad overzealousness had been a problem with my install. Notifying the designers seems to have corrected issue. I now can see ,the ads and participate if /when I'm interested. And I do monitor the ads. It's what I owe for playing the free game. At this time I have removed Spades Free due to ads overwhelming gameplay.

Fun app. Artificial intelligence is lacking at times. For example, don't count on your partner to cover your nill. Also, if you don't take down that big square ad that covers my score I'm going to uninstall! What were you thinking? UPDATE: Problem with ads has since been resolved. UPDATE: My partner just bid nil. He had the first play. He played a queen. Enough said.

This is the closest one can get to playing the real thing. I would've given 5 stars but the Avatars can be maddening at times. Almost sabotaging the game on purpose. A partner wouldn't make some of the plays they make. Other than that. This is a great game and app. Thanks

This would be a perfect card game if it were not for the ads that pop up when I want to leave the app. I have to wait for the add to do its thing before I can exit out of the ad then exit out of the game.

Chosen players will play against you! They cut aces then throw out a regular playing card or they hold aces until other players are cutting then they play them costing us books! They get all the bags or they get us sot. Also they know what is in ur hand & play around you. This game SUCKS!

This is a very addictive game which is well designed/implemented...when not waiting for LONG/uncloseable ads to complete. I've not encountered a more obnoxious ad implementation for a free ap. Sorry to see this happen to this game in 2016.

Since the update I have been playing the game more. I have played with and against all characters, it's good to see the level 3-5 AI make better decisions. No game is perfect, but this one is close

Good time waster. My only complaint is that my partner seems to play against me instead of with me (especially if bidding Nil). Gets frustrating.

Love playing this version. Most spades games available don't have the big and little joker and wild cards. This game helps me in improving my game and beating my family at next year's Thanksgiving spades game.

I love this game my only complaint is how stupid your partners are sometimes I feel like they are trying to keep us from winning. They continuously overbid and cut my books.. Smh, other than that it's a great game.. UPDATE..DECEMBER 15, 2016..Finally updated the app and definitely regretting it, the game keeps forcing closed after only a few minutes of play its driving me crazy PLEASE fix this!!!

How come the computer always get the better hands. In when yall gone put a cut throat in the game, sometimes your partner cuts you or never make they books?

Finally black Jack version with animated graphics, which shows each player's scores, bids projected and books made during the game. Also undo button. Errors in the addition of subtraction sometimes don't carry over to the overall totals sofar for Them scores. Fix how app calculates correctly and will upgrade to 5 stars.

When I bid nil and play a card, my Partner sometimes plays his lowest card in his suite. Under bidding is also a huge problem with any P. I rarely underbid, it's always the P. It's impossible to win without having to cheat. Wtf good is that?

The aesthetics aren't too bad, & they give different options for choosing bots as a partner. But that's where the good ends. I can only play in portrait view on my tablet, which is a total pain. But most importantly, the bots are complete idiots. I wasn't expecting some super AI, but these are bad. Compared to other games only, I'd give their bots a 5 out of 10.

There has to be a glitch in the game. I've been playing spades for 30 years so I am a pretty good player. If you ever bid nil you will always get caught. Played about 10 different hands trying to go nil and was caught EVERY time. Coincidence?

Computer players cut partner unnecessarily needs more variety but still a good game format i love that the undo button is there incase i play the wrong card which happens often lol!

Ok game. Some of the highest level players make stupid moves. The ads come before and after the game. Not worth the aggravation. I understand generating income but it is ridiculous.

I used to really enjoy this game and I know the makers want to make some money from it but the ads have become ridiculous. Popping up way too often now. I may have to uninstall soon. Otherwise it would be 5 stars.

Stop the updates!!! Seems one of the updates is; the AI that is my partner always leads spades when eligible. I cound be cutting a suit and the AI will play a spade instead of playing the suit I am cutting. It also will not play to win and then what would be a winner gets cut. With the way the free version plays I will not pay for any pay version you may offer.

Now reducing my review to the lowest it can go because now the game has ads that cannot be dismissed (even by closing the app) except by waiting for them to allow you to dismiss them. It's as if the devs have hacked Android to prevent the user's normal ability to even dismiss the game itself while ads are shown. Also, one ad appears above the "Play" button and appears only after a delay - a delay designed to increase the likelihood that the user mistakenly clicks the ad when trying to click the Play button.

This game has a plethora of ads and swamps an user. Also, has an issue w/ bidding. Partner bids are not logical. Recommendation: use a different Spades app.

Great game, like the new random player option. Doesn't get 5 stars because it crashes too much.

After playing more than 100 games, I am convinced the game's software is designed to limit losses. No matter how conservative you bid, your partner seems to come up short when you are well in the lead, or your opponents always manage to throw just the right card when you have bid nil to bust you. Doesn't seem like an experienced player would make the same mistakes your partner always seems to make at the most critical times. Update: The game is fun, but when selecting the most skilled computer partners, they consistently overbid when in the lead. Additionally, covering nil bids is still a problem. I've also noticed the algorithm seems to cause the computer partner to overbid when the player bids nil. Finally, no matter how well I play, my computer partner always seems to keep me from winning more than half the games I play.

This is the most honest an fair game I've had the chance to play an feel like I'm apart of in ages!! You all that had apart in making this are wonderful and keep up the good work... It's not only a stress reliever but it's also makes me feel as though in playing a real game and don't have to leave home. As a 37year old mother of a 19month old I have know time going out this is very convenient an is worthy of the stars I gave an more!!!! Too often my partner trumps my trick when they don't have to. Stupid play. REALLY like passing cards when going nil.
