Strategy of the Game:

In a perfectly designed game, when a player wants to win or at least draw, choose the following move as per the list is given below:
1. Win: When a player has two Os or Xs in a row, they can place third to place three in a row.
2. Block: If the opponent has 2 Os or Xs in a row, then the player should place third in a way to block the opponent.
3. Fork: A time when the player has two threats to win.
4. Blocking an Opponent's Fork:
A player should create two in a row to push the opponent into defending, so it doesn't result in them creating a fork.

The First Player, recognized as "X", will get three possible choices to place the mark. Either center, corner or edge. Here, you can see 9 grid positions, meanwhile, as we rotate it, we will know that every corner mark is equivalent to every other corner mark. The strategy is same for every edge mark. Player X has three possible choices to win or draw the game.

The Second Player which is known as "O" must respond to X in a way to stop X to win. Although, Player O should always respond corner opening with center mark and vice-versa. Edge Opening should be responded with either center or opposite edge mark. Any other responses will lead X to win.

Tic Tac Toe Different Names:

Tic Tac Toe is recognised by different names all across the world. In England, it's known by name Noughts and Crosses aka x and o. In Canada or Ireland was known by the name Xs and Os, while in the United States it is known by the name Tic-Tac-Toe, Tick-Tat-Toe or Tit-Tat-Toe. In North Ireland known by the name Exy-ozys, xsie-osies.

Game History:

Looking back to the History of Tic Tac Toe, it came from the Claudia Zaslavsky's book Tic Tac Toe: And Other Three-In-A Row Games. A slightly different game by firstly played in the Roman Empire in 1st Century BC. The Game was known as Terni Lapilli where each player has 3 pieces and players have to move around in the empty spaces to keep the Gameplay working. In 1864, the name Noughts and Crosses arrived from Anthony Trollope's novel "Can You Forgive Her", where he describes a clerk playing the game. The US Renamed the game Noughts and Crosses to Tic Tac Toe back in 20th Century.

Different Combinations:

The Game looks too simple, yet it is useful in teaching the principles of Probability. The game requires full detailed analysis to calculate the different combinations such as a number of possible games and number of possible wins.
- There are total 362,880 possible places where Xs and Os can be placed. Out of them, 255,168 possible winning combinations.
- When you eliminate Symmetrical Combinations, there are total 138 unique winning combinations.
