Dying Light Companion for Android
Updated Review [ SERVER ISSUES HAVE BEEN FIXED!!!! 100% WORKING AGAIN :) ] [Original Review] I wish they would update the app to include The Following content, and give us the option to save the in-app music to our device. This has to be my most loved and used app, and THE best companion app. Absolutely perfect for farming additional crafting supplies for the main game. And the best part? You can manage your scouts on the go when you can't play Dying Light and when you create your supply packages, send them to the Tower for when you next fire up the main game to collect your spoils!
I like this app it's soul function works well but I do have some suggestions. 1.I think it would be cool if you could change your characters outfit through the app. I don't know if this is possible but if it is I would like it. 2.Just as a little fun thing but have a little encyclopedia on all the charachters and zombies. 3. It would be cool if there was a chance Rais could interfere with your missions. 4.Have it possible to get signiture things if you have the app like blueprints and outfits but only make it possible to get them through missions (Obviously). 5.Try to make the app more immersive like have brecken occasionally give you a forced mission or just have dialogue from the charachters. If this was supportive or you have a comment on my suggestions feel free to say anything. Keep up with the good work Techland!!!
App downloaded using 85mb of my mobile contract data only to find that I can't even register. The 'REGISTER' button does nothing. Well deserved 1 star. Update.. I thought I'd give it another go and YAY! I can now register. So I thought I was finally in until I tried my password and all it does is say 'connection lost'. What?! Update number 2.. I'm in. It now works! I have been able to use the app. I have increased my star rating from 1 star to 3.
After registering for the first time it let me in the game. Upon closing and reloading I was prompted to log in. After inputing my info and hitting ok, the loading bar would pop up for a second then disappear leaving me back at the log in prompt. I tried a new email and got the same. I tried deleting and reinstalling. Before all this I accepted confirmation emails and checked that my passwords were correct. I then waited a couple days thinking I just got locked out for trying to log in so much. After all that I can't give a good rating for a game I can't even log into.
It's a good way to earn supplies and melees and other weapons while offline. The stuff racks up faster than you think. I usually play it off and on for a few days then dump one load of supplies to my game. It does what it says.
Why is this app available to download? I can't register in the application, it just errors out. I've googled to try finding an alternate way to do this and find people complaining about this from way back in January, no link or information on where I can register. I love the actual game, but what is going on with the app? This is really badly done. How am I to register and make use of it?
The app is useful and let's you get free medkits along with other supplies for your character. It's extremely helpful if you play on the hardest mode. I don't really play the app for fun. I just send my scouts out for supplies and play the actual game. Real helpful imo
Won't even let me past the login screen. Was looking forward to seeing what it was all about but not so much now. I have installed and removed this app at least a dozen times still not working. If I was able to give less then 0 stars I would. Yes I do have the game bought and paid for so this is a very big let down.
I have linked to my steam account and can log into the dockets.dyinglightgame site with no problem, but the app just doesn't allow a connection. I thought it was me so have changed the password twice. Still cannot connect . Anybody else got problems using a steam linked account?
Great for adding general loot to your main account! Not really stimulating though but handy for having a sh#"tload of weapons to stroll through Harran. The amount of Medkits and firecrackers I made from this app is hectic!
Let me clear up everyone saying this is a boring game. It is not designed to be a game but an assistant to the mother game "Dying Light." And it does that beautifully. Need med kits send a pack full of 20 of them to your Dying Light game and get to smashing zombies. The app runs smoothly and is great for getting resources for in game use. Plain in simple, if you love playing Dying Light then this app will further enhance that experience
everything you wanna do here takes days up to weeks. finish one mission takes now 12h hours in real-time. it's no fun at all. I'd rather run around in dying light for hours and hours. that at least takes interaction and some zombie action.
Needs to be updated with DLC items. This app could remain useful if they added car parts to the rewards. I don't even care that there's not a new set of missions for the new area. If they could just add a few missions that reward Screws and other car parts, this would be a great app. Also MOAR HOUSE HOLD SUPPLIES . I always joke that they're the rarest item in the game because I'm always out of them.
Notifications are out of control, often notifying me three times that the same mission completed. After sending all my scouts out on 12hour missions it'll notify me that I haven't sent anyone in a while, even though they're all busy. Seems like it has to fully reload every time I open it, even if it was just open. Bad app, but some of the loot is OK. Also wish you can stack same items in a package.
Dropping from five stars to three. While this app is clutch when it comes to farming medkits, alcohol, metal parts, and house hold supplies. It lacks in bigger rewards. I've now completed all the missions. The higher missions are useless after done as they usually only drop stuff you need to do those upper missions. Now all I do is send scouts off on the first few missions in the slums for the supplies I listed above. There needs to be bigger rewards for doing the 20 hour missions.
Don't listen to the losers who forgot their passwords, or who are whining because they don't get Google achievements. This is an excellent companion app, one of the best I have used because it actually gives you useful stuff to use in the REAL game
It's not a very exciting game. Send out scouts, level them up from completing missions, and get tons of loot you can send to your actual game. It's fine for what it is, nothing to exciting, but nothing terrible. My only issue is when the app sends me notifications that I haven't sent out scouts in a while, but all my scouts are already out on missions lol
Items transfer to the game just fine. The app gives you duplicate notifications when missions are complete, which is really annoying. Plus the app notifies you too frequently when you don't send scouts on missions after a certain period of time. Cut down on the notifications and I'd rate higher
This is a great addition to the game. During the day I can stock up on materials that I will use up when I play at night. The game is fairly difficult starting out, so having extra med-kits and other crafting items makes it a lot more enjoyable. Disable the notifications in android settings to stop your device from blowing up.
Once all levels are unlocked seems to reward you less the more you play might just be me but seems like scouts come back empty-handed alot. Also the missions take around 13hrs WTF not even 2 a day.
Won't even let me past the login screen. Was looking forward to seeing what it was all about but not so much now. I have installed and removed this app at least a dozen times still not working. I used to use this app a while back. After The Following came out I saw an advert in game to use the app to get resources, which is helpful but there are no screws found. I had expected to come back to a new and updated app but it's just the same. The Countryside isn't even in the app. How disappointing considering how awesome The Following is.
Great idea, love companion apps like this. It's perfect for when you take a break from dying light and are playing other games. By the time I'm ready to jump back into it, I'll have a massive pile of ammo and crafting mats.
Very unfair app to use. Yes it rewards you with in-game supplies. However to progress in missions you need certain supplies which has a 1% chance of obtaining. Also you have very little scouts to play with, making missions very difficult to do if you even qualify to do them. Would give better rating if in-app supplies were easier to get as well as more scouts.
It nags me to buy the game every time I open it. I have the game and the following or I wouldn't be using it. I have unlocked all the missions and completed them numerous times but am still yet to see over half the possible loot you can get. Many missions which take over 10 hours end up giving you nothing. It's helpful when you first start playing the game but once you've progressed a bit this companion app becomes a waste of time. It also needs updating to include content from the following.
I had my reservations initially given that many game companion apps either don't work, don't work well or are just crap. This runs beautifully, doesn't require extra accounts (like Uplay) and you get handy stuff for the game. It would be better of you could run it without data connection and send packages when you are connected to WiFi but still, it's a solid, useful and entertaining app. Well done.
Just bought dying light with all the other add ons and the following dlc content. Can say it is a little challenging farming items with volatiles after you...so this is a perfect app...seen this on the daily memo on my game (which I thought was dead since its been a year of the release .) Incredible! I will get those rare items in this! Also easy to play during the day when you have kids and can only play the real thing at night.
Great little app helps massively with the game...To begin with it was spot on and I would have given 5 stars however for the last couple of days I have been sending my scouts on missions and Im getting the alerts through to say that they have returned from the mission. When I open the app to collect the rewards etc it is saying that there are no missions completed and I dont recieve any items
I liked the game until the first time I had to sign in. It wouldn't accept my password. I tried and tried with no luck. So I went to see if a confirmation email was sent and it was, but when I clicked the link to verify, it goes to a blank white scree. Also hitting the"forgot password?" Link doesn't work either. A gear starts spinning and never stops. Please fix!
There is literally nothing negative about this app. And you get to stockpile supplies and melee weapons if you get far enough. Some of the times for the missions are wack but send out scouts before you hit the bar/club or go to sleep. Good night and good luck
Finally had it to where I was almost done with the game all the missions, and a login error kept me from logging in, so uninstalled it and re-installed it to fix it, and now I have to start all over. Other than that, I love the concept of being able to help out your console game person on your phone. It was fun.
This is a great companion app, as far as companions go. But, the notifications are a little buggy. I get 2 or 3 notes for the same mission completed. I also get a "You haven't sent any scouts out lately", regardless of whether i have or not. Many times it will pop up 5 minutes after I sent out all of my scouts on long missions. Great app other than that!!
Very simple and it let's me help my boyfriend get farther in his console version! I am thoroughly enjoying it so far! I was just wondering if we could have two of these apps registered to his ps4? I have one on my phone currently, would he be able to download this app on his phone and double the amount of supplies he can get from the app? Or would that cause an error?
I've changed my review as when I reviewed this first time I couldn't log on to the app. There apparently was a sever problem. I was able to log on this morning. I've played the app and managed to send a package containing 14 items to my Dying Light game. Where I was able to collect it from the quarter master. The game notified me a package had been sent from my scouts. It's early days. But the stuff collected has been useful add I've been able to sell it to get cash to buy other in-game items.
It's looking like this is going to be extremely helpful. Just sent my first package, haven't been on yet to see if it came. If it does, you have to get this app. Lifesaver. Not sure about the notifications. My mission finished and I only got 1 notification for 3 completed missions.
If you're looking for an easy way to earn all of thoes little items for dying light than look no further. Its a companion so its not very good as a stand alone game but it works well and now I dont have to search for 1 bottle of alcohol for 10 minutes. :)
I FORGOT MY PASSWORD AND DONT KNOW WHAT I SET FOR EVERYTHING ELSE BECAUSE REASONS THEY DID NOT MAKE ME DO THIS WITH FALLOUT 4'S APP
For what the app does, it is genuinely amazing. Numerous time I run out of med kits while playing the actual game due to excessive falling (who doesn't) and this game helps me supply myself for when I do play the console edition. But... The only thing I wish this could do is involve more access to my PSN Dying Light account, such as connect me to leaderboards, viewing other players also using the Dying Light Companion App, or the game itself. So far, so great! I hope to see more features for this app!
