WHAT IT IS:
Dual N-Back has been shown to improve working memory and fluid intelligence, which was previously thought unchangable. This is a simple clone of Brain Workshop http://brainworkshop.sourceforge.net/ with a clean and fast interface. Audios are taken from the desktop game with its creator (Paul Hoskinson)'s permission.
VERSIONS:
There's no difference in terms of features between Brain N-Back and Brain N-Back Prime. They both exist for historical reasons. Or if you don't have time, skim FAQ below. In short, you should play using sheer intuition without strategizing (e.g. visualizing patterns, repeatedly recalling, etc.)
1. I want sound for Russian/French/...
==> You are not supposed to symbolize the sounds. Strategizing the game helps you play better, but will not work out your brain. What language it is shouldn't matter. The English sound shouldn't have been there in the first place. It is the default just to stay faithful with the original version. I reccommend you use Piano to reduce the risk of symbolizing the sound.
2. Please disable "auto advancement". I need to feel ready by practicing the lower level first.
==> Staying at your comfort level doesn't work out your brain. You are supposed to move on as soon as you do reasonably with the previous level. It doesn't matter if you keep failing at the higher level. It's the trying that works out your brain.

No way to backup or export data. Only allows a fixed number of trials- I can set the "n", but not how many total iterations. For example, I cant select 2-back with 100 iterations in one session.

Great, except on my new phone, audio clue is sometimes not heard (ie skips) on Marshmallow (stock Android, Nexus 6P). I saw in another review that someone is having the opposite problem of a tile being skipped while audio is still heard. Also, please put total # of trials today on the pop-up after a session. Back to 5 stars when these are fixed/implemented.

This app needs to have keyboard inputs for users on Chromebooks! Audio is sometimes skipped - probably due to poor audio initialization. Fix these and it's a solid 5-star app. And great job on the Material Design facelift. Looks good.

This app has the following flaws. I got a low score on a 3 n back twice and it did NOT bring me back to a 2 n back. Probably the maker of the app gave in to the request of.customers and made it so you did not go.back as easily. Most of the time i beleive the customer is always right, this is not one of those times. If you get more than 3 answers wrong your n back needs to be dropped. It is the proven method of building an iq. The other issue is it needs to count out 18 to 20 r

It does very well what it is supposed to do. I like it very much. I would like more gamification to motivate me. e.g. set up daily goal of ten sessions and then count number of days in row. Compare your current average score with my Facebook friends

I deleted this app accidentally. I am now trying to reinstall it, but installation is stopped in the download process of google store.

The miss counts for sounds are often incorrect. Never clicking sound the following listed a miss count of 1 at the default level: hlhqsrckhtkqtrhrqlqll. So this app appears broken. I have repeated this test multiple times, finding mistaken miss counts for sounds.
