Soundcardz

Casual family fun based on decks of audible playing cards.

The app features game modes for toddlers (whack-a-card), kids (match pairs) and parents (two-player versus).

The built-in editor lets you create, play and share your own decks. Make one with your family members, or get creative... Currently one sample deck is bundled; it features photos of toy animals accompanied by some rather real sounds.

Daydreaming is supported and might come in handy (note: currently disabled due to screen orientation issues). There is also a toddler lock which prevents use of the back button. The home button cannot be blocked by apps, however.

Decks are shared in zip format and can be easily created on the side, i.e. without the use of the built-in editor. For example, a desktop computer with image and sound editing capabilities can be used to create more polished decks. The app scans the SD card for files starting with "soundcardz_" and ending with ".zip". Tap the in-game link (the globe in the right panel) for more information.

Future work: Improved game modes, additional game modes, additional bundled decks, improved editor, tweaks, requests, ...
