How To Play

Basically, you are cracking the code. The default is a 5 letter word, with double letters allowed. (number of letters in random word, and doubles allowed are changeable in the settings!)

You start a “Quick Game” and click down where it says “tap here”. You type in your guess.

Instantaneously, the computer tells you how close you were to cracking the code. Or in other words, how many letters in your guess overlap with the secret word.

Double letter scoring is consistent. If the target word has two e’s and you guess a word with a single e, it will count it only as one. If you really want to make the game challenging you can turn on “House rules” in the settings for scoring double letters contrary to the method mentioned above.

Why Jotto?

My grandma taught my dad and his siblings to play, and they played Jotto on long car trips. My dad taught me and my siblings to play, and we played Jotto on long car trips. I have since promoted the game to other family and friends.

Now that paper and pencil are scarce and Android tablets and phones are everywhere, naturally, 2 player jotto needed to be made, for all those long car trips and air plane rides.
