Gobandroid Go Material for Android
Great app The best I have find for Go so far. Apart from just playing Go, it also has many features that are very useful for learning the game and strategies. It has three levels for Tsumego (usually 1 to 5 moves strategy problems to solve), it also has recorded games of masters to study. Another big plus is the fact that it is Open Source. Also, the developer is very helpful and responds fast.
I would have found these MUCH sooner if they were listed on F-droid! How about some instructions? Maybe simple strategy? Alternate rules?
In tsumego, taken stones with 0 liberties don't disappear, not possible to finish many problems, e.g. Easy #3. Maybe stops working if you backtrack or take hint.
The app seems way more stable than Elygo for example, and which is my hallmark for graphics, I wish you could implement better colors and other textures for the stones.
When gnugo level 10 starts losing, it stops working. Otherwise, the app is ok for playing with friends.
The best go app I have ever seen
SGF writer, huge database of pro games and commented games, lots of Tsumego problems (easy/med/hard) that update and links to various references. Also have a video tutorial for using the app. Apparently it includes a GNUGo bot to play against, but I've never played it. Not buggy and UI is decent too. All this for free and no adds. Thanks Ligi!
You installed some bs TV thing? Lame.
For one reason, the last and next move button are so close together, when I accidentally press the last button in the middle of reviewing a game, I don't want to go back to the beginning and press the next move hundred of times to get back to my review. There are many of this kind of design flaw in this program. Don't bother fixing it.
With further correction of errors this is destined to be a go to free app for Go Games. A reasonable price for an improved error - free version, I am betting, will still attract others.
Just a little question is any way to get tsumego in the app thanks!
Great program!
Not easy to navigate sgf with variations. Love the concept of gobandroidTV but would be nice if the pause for reading the comentary is on the move itself, and not the one after it.
Add could you fix the gnugo crash problem? I know cannot edit gnugo easily, but you coud make it auto reload, right? Another problem is, there is no signal after gnugo resign, or coud you set a '--never-resign' option at gnugo? I like never resign too
Nice
Great app for doing Go problems. One feature tweak request: the 'back/last move' button (red arrow) when playing tsumego sometimes swaps place with the info button. It's very routine for me to hit the back button many times in a row, and when I do this the last one brings up the info menu. It's a constant, minor Ui frustration.
Essential app for any go enthusiast
It have tsumego, it's have review, more important it allow u to play ai or 2play . No ads, I give u my respects
I cannot just load and view sgf with this app!
As is. Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30. Gnu go installs but hangs saying it's not your move. The rest -tsumego, ui,... -awesome
I like the app itself, but I'm wondering why there needs to be a separate gobandroid TV app in the app drawer; it's annoying and unneeded, if the main app can already review games. Secondly, considering the size of gobandroid and gnugo, I don't see the necessity in keeping the two as separate downloads.
this is one of the great apps I really wish to see great improvements and to become a must-have apps for every Go player
Great app. It would be great if I can choose the board color.
A great app that was doing everything I needed perfectly except for the occasional freeze of gnugo. I just updated and for some reason (maybe new folder structure?) after crashing while trying to copy some files somewhere, any folder with a large number of sgfs inside it cannot be opened without crashing the app... EDIT: The gameplay against GNUGo is working well now (and there are other sgf/tsumego readers that work okay), so I would only try the beta if there is a way of reverting back to the stable version if the beta version performs worse. EDIT: Another update and tsumego work again, some folders seem to be bugged in review still, but I will consider trying the beta if it becomes a problem. Thank you.
Crashes immediately during app loading.
ty to google for not caching what we type here. oh well. its the stars that count anyways so great program. 5 star for you.
I use this on an e-reader, which has a different aspect ratio than phones do. I would like the option to shrink the board slightly so as to read more than one line of commentary at a time. I don't expect many to have this same problem though, so I'm happy to make do for this otherwise excellent goban.
Every go player needs this.
Useful application
But crashes sometimes
The best on Google play.
Recent update broke tsumego memory. The app no longer remembers what problems I have solved.
I accidentally deleted one tsumego and have been unable to undelete.
This app has hundreds of practice problems of varying difficulties & pro games that have been commentated along with variation explanations. This is what ive be looking for . Helps me practice and learn on the go
It's no smartgo kifu, but it's the best tool to record games on Android. I would like a better interface for editing and reviewing a sgf.
dat material design
Many android Go apps don't behave well on tablets, particularly in landscape mode. This one is probably the best if you want to play against GnuGo, and has a nice interface to sgf files too.
Add could you fix the gnugo crash problem? I know cannot edit gnugo easily, but you coud make it auto reload, right? Another problem is, there is no signal after gnugo resign, or coud you set a '--never-resign' option at gnugo? I like never resign too
I've tried a lot of go/baduk/weiqi apps, both in google play and outside from Asia. this is by far the best game recording app. others might be better for game review or online play. but recording wise, this is the best.

GOOD. VERY CLOSE to THE BEST.
