Samurai of Hyuga

Very story driven. Has it's ups and downs during the story. But is easy to follow and entertaining if you are into the Japanese Culture type of "off brand"? Pro: The personality choices is amazingly done. Each personality is unique to some parts of the plot line and if you better in one area most likely you will fail in choices with the other personalities. Pro: It will keep you begging for more at times. Con: decisions are not drastically significant to the plot line as it serves a linear purpose.

Incredibly well written, exciting, witty, and amazing at creating real Characters with real pictures in great detail and breath taking fun. Would do anything to finish book by watching ads but cannot as you do have to pay money to get past cliff hanger. Never read a book with such engaging people in it and dialogue, it was as genuine and real that I was there as if in real life. One of the greatest experiences of my life, wishing it would last forever as this story speaks to me on a deep real level.

If you like choose your own adventure books, you'll like this game. The plot and pacing of the story are riveting and the choices you make will be challenging. I literally could not put it down. That being said this app is only the first part of a much longer story (and has a devious cliff hanger at the end). You may also want to be aware of the fact that only the first 5 chapters are free. You'll need to purchase the remaining chapters 6 - 14. Still worth it in my opinion.

This was a wonderful story, full of action and choices. You only get the first 5 chapters and full story has to be bought, which is saddening to me because I'm broke and I can't afford it. Can you please make it free by implementing the same time system as "Creatures such as we"? thanks!

I really enjoyed the story, completely immersed in it just that... it isn't freeeeeee. If possible, could you please do it like you guys did doomsday? Read a few chapters, then wait some time to continue. If so I'd be hugely grateful because I love this story.

I liked the story so far but the cliff hangers are irritating. Not sure how many characters are romance options is annoying too. Some of the characters seems to be based on characters from Rurouni Kenshin, especially Hatch who resembles Sagara Sanosuke and Momoko who resembles Takani Megumi, I also see traces of Himura Kenshin in the protagonist. Overall the the story and characters fit well together and is an enjoyable read, just wondering how long the thing actually is

You can choose a lethal or nonlethal path, to be stoic or snarky, you can even be noticed for having picked Kenshin a name (Oro?), but every choice leads down the same paths, just with slightly differing results. Your story just feels like it's not yours as it's tailored for the Robin whose story is laid out for you. I'd move on to the second book, but this one just felt too short to justify the cost.

Samurai of Hyuga is a surprisingly decent CoG that features some splendid descriptive writing, and fairly enjoyable encounters handled with a mixture of guile and intrigue. It's a shame that the thematic nature of the plot opts for the cliche, far more often than the consistent. As remaining grounded without gratuitous Anime tropes and DEMONS, might have made for a brilliant, traditional samurai game. Yet this CoG lacks the confidence to really develop the story beyond the crutch of a shoe-in shounen manga.

This book has been a ride. The story is not exactly original but the idea is very welcome, especially on a platform like this and presented like so. The writing style was fetching. It resembled the amateurish writing styles of a budding writer except it was well-written and polished. The characters are very lovable, but that cliffhanger really got me. I hope with all my soul that it going well for our Ronin, because there's just really no way. I'm in suspense. And sweating through my eyes.

I finally decided to buy it and I got to say this is really good. It reminds me a lot of a book called The immortals rules by Julie Kagawa. The only thing I'm worried about for this story is how much is this gonna cost in total? This only took out one of the enemies that the king wanted gone and the price for it is quite a bit much, especially the next book. Though it still is a good book don't get me wrong, just it'll be cool if you can at least lower the price for the next one or get it on sale.

I've read a lot of these short story, choose your own adventure type apps now, but this is the only one I've purchased and I loved it! I neeeeed the second part to come out; the cliffhanger killed me.

I played through this story several times and absolutely loved every minute of it. The plot is great and addictive and the characters are really interesting. I have already gone through book 2 and I want book 3. I can't wait to see the drama expand.

My only gripe is that FRICKEN ending!! What the HELL!!? But it's not enough to make me knock off points. My only hope is that you don't kill Masami off like that, I was really enjoying her and felt like there was more to her back story than She was telling. But this is your story and can't wait for a sequel(if there is one).

Hook you in with a free trial, promises an epic adventure pay up and find you get 1/16th of the story. Will admit that the story was compelling but I am now completely adverse to trying any more unless I know exactly how much I'm getting

This is an excellent CoG, although I have a few qualms that drop it down to a four star rating. I paused at every choice the story presented to me and held back laughter of glee when scenes became tense, and I became engrossed in my character's story almost immediately. However, the structure of the chapters makes me feel like the author doesn't know what a chapter is. I understand they'd like to make money, but it's a cheap move when the final free chapter is maybe three screens before they remind me I have to pay for the rest as going into a fight somehow means it's time for a new chapter. Despite this, I still very much enjoy this CoG and very much look forward to the rest of the story.

I really loved it! The game brings back the new and old way of reading a book and unlocking stories in most simulated dating games. But what I cab appreciate the most is that you don't need an internet when you are reading which is really REALLY convenient!

Clearly a game for weebs. There was some thought and research done into the actual culture of ancient Japan but it comes off as superficial. Nothing in depth and it just comes off as just plain bad in certain instances.

It was a good story but what I disliked is that I payed 3.99 to read a story that was almost finished and if I didn't like the choice I had made I had to start over and for 9chapters that's a very steep price I buy books with 100s if not over a thousand pages for $8 I enjoy reading but it's not worth it for a book I can finish in a couple of hours the replay value for it is low because it's very linear so all choices made result in the same action with a changed paragraph at the top of the new page mostly. PS I did like the reference to Ruroni Kenshin<type in as your name and you get "oro" at the top

This cyoa game is very well written. I love that the stats are personality traits instead of skills. It's refreshingly different. However, the girl who I am supposed to protect is so so annoying!! A little spoiled brat; I'm just so sick of this girl, which upsets me as a female reader. Also around the 8th chapter, the story just got boring, which is disappointing for a cyoa novel. I don't think I'm going to finish the game.

This story was entertaining the whole way through. The price is a little high, but I paid it gladly for the quality I received. Worst part about this series is waiting for the next book to come out.

This is the same story as Rounin Kenshin a japanese manga. It is clear plagiarism down to the opium maker and everything. Wish it was an original story especially since I paid for it.

Linear but I prefer one solid good plot than 4 bad ones. Personality system is more nuanced than most games, which is very welcome. Played the second one too and I am in love! Can't wait for the third book to be released.

I absolutely loved this and this is the best thing I've read I think in a long time!! The ending though ripped my insides out with that cliffhanger and I absolutely can't wait to read the next book and hopefully a whole series. Again, best interactive novel ever so far!

Incredibly well written and I honestly have nothing to complain about it. Easily one of the few best purchase I had on Play Store. Gonna buy book 2 as soon as I got the money!

A very impressive tale. Playing as "Yuko" the perverted demon swordsman was nothing short of hilarious. The dialogue is lovely, with a very believable tone taken to the time period.

A good read, kind of obvious the author is a weeb though. I can only read "baka!" so many times before I start to cringe.

Part two, Part two PLEASE!!! So it didn't start out well for me, the character had my name,sure but I felt like I was just a kid along for The journey, and not as though I were a part of it .But it could be that; that wandering ronin is frustrating and not a default main character. They were their own character . I came for the romance and got a cool story with no romance really, but I look forward to book two and more romance thrown in.

compared with other great interactive fiction series, such as Lifeline, Horror In or Zarya-1; the adds in Hyuga are atrocious. Your given absolutely no chance to try before you buy. Instead being bombarded with intrusive advertisements from pg. 1. I therefore wasn't surprised to discover Hyuga cost the most, and offered the lowest quality, of all the similar titles in the genre. Do yourself a favour and avoid this. Instead, try out any of the other three titles I mentioned. All free to try. All without obnoxious adds.

The story really got me good, I'm hooked. It was so different to read about a female ronin. Of course this is because I'm a woman i wanted it to be a woman lol. This is my second choice game story I've played and i really enjoyed the way it was l written and the personality ranking was a very nice touch. I can't wait to read the second part. They killed me with that cliff hanger lol. One other thing I'd like to add is I'd like to know the author by name, i really enjoyed their writing style.

Iz great but I'm just a poor guy. I kinda wish the chapters is like "Doomsday on Demand" read then wait so u can read again. I'd like to finish this one but I can't cuz u have to buy the rest of the thing. I'd buy it if I had the money, and the new one... But... Can't

This was a great read, and the choices were really tense! There are some grammatical errors here and there and one of the stats may be glitched (not enough to disrupt my goals). I highly recommend giving this one a shot!

All the characters are amazing and the story is so well written, I couldn't take my look away from each and every words! The fact that you may make your own choices through all the the book is a blessing, seriously, I'm addicted!

Really great job my dear sir, a very compelling story indeed. The only thing that made me drop a star was the lack of night reading, it kind of hurts my eyes to read it at night otherwise.

Well the false choice is still not likeable but the story is nice. The main thing I like is the characters. Second the story. Third the backstory? Well I had fun so thank you.

Starts off promising then gives you a false mercy choice just to rub in their already stated warning of violence. If you don't want people to stay a merciful option, don't give it at all. Presenting a false choice for a "lecture" is smug and breaks immersion, so I'll be uninstalling and low-marking

I keep seeing attunement increase messages but when I check it's actually decreasing. It was at 88 and 3 increases later it's at 75. I haven't had a single decrease yet and I just saved a character from jumping off a bridge (don't want to spoil anything)

I've played a fair number of choice of games. The story in this one was enjoyable enough. However I couldn't quite come to grips with the writing style. It just wasn't for me.
