Fallen Hero: Rebirth for Android
This game made me a bit depressed, on two occasions. The first was after having learned a bit about the character's backstory. The second was when I finished the story, and realised I'd have to wait a while for the next part to come out. I honestly don't want to wait, this game is brilliant on all fronts. Deserves a full 5 stars, that's just a fact!
This is probably my favorite choice game. The story is engaging, and sad in a fun way. There are lots of different cool details to find on different paths. You have a ton of interesting choices to make, with significant impact. The story is a good length (though I wish it was longer of course), however, I felt satisfied with how things ended and am excited for what comes next. As for the rest of it: the prose is excellent, and great at evoking emotion, and the fight scenes are fun. The characters are well written and interesting, especially the MC. (My favorite is Ortega -- I love how much she cares for the MC). Very much worth the money! Looking forward to the next one!
I have always been a fan of the supervillain and superhero oriented choice games, and this is definitely one of the best that I've seen. The characters felt very real, and the inner termoil reflected by the MC was deeply fascinating to read. There was some unique and interesting commentary on both depression, and PTSD, that really added to the experience. The stat system was easier to comprehend, but not to the point where things seemed straightforward, and though minor, I appreciated the specialized aesthetic taken on the stats screen. Grammar was excellent, with any issues that might have appeared being few and far between. The romance paths, though moving a bit slower for my tastes, had a bit of a bitter sweet feel, and moved at a rate appropriate to the storyline, especially since this series will eventually continue on to another choice game. All in all, it was a great play, and I have already found myself repeatedly going through the different routes. I would highly recommend purchasing, and will be on the lookout for more choice games from this author in the future.
Phenomenal. Rife with ethical dilemmas, tense and evocative action, and characters with a vibrance not seen nearly often enough in games like these (specifically ones involving superheroes). Color me impressed. I do have one thing I'd like to see moving forward in the series, however, and that is the option to develop a dissociation with the puppet. There is evidence of this being in the works, but I think there's a lot of fun to be had with that.
Love it!! It's so awesome, even though I had to pay to read the whole thing - totally worth it btw. I will try to be patient and wait for the next part! Can't wait! Update soon!! :D
This may be the best thing I have ever rEAD. It's so detailed, and the main character is so deep and complicated! Piecing together mc's backstory is so satisfyingly wonderful. PLEEEEAAAAAAASE MAKE THE SEQUAL FASTERRRRR I NEED TO READ IT!
Very different COG with a dark plot and fantastic writing. I have bought and read so many COGs, but this one has to be one of my favourites. Can't wait for part 2!
This story went from my favorite demo on the choice forum to my favorite game period and I seriously look forward to the future titles. I've always loved the superhero genre and to be able to play a villain (especially a reluctant one) is such a cool thing; it's dark and has enough mystery to it to leave you wanting more rather than confuse or frustrate you. The writing is solid and it's incredibly easy to lose yourself in the world that's been built.
I really enjoyed reading this story! I normally don't write reviews, so I'm sorry if this is not good. I just wanted to say this is worth buying. :)
Very good read, from a very interesting perspective so far. We'll see where this goes as the story continues.. I am definitely looking forward to the next part :)
Loved the story, especially where you alternate between two bodies, very creative. Lots of freedom for character creation and choices along the story.
It is so well written really hooked me in can not wait for a seconed installment
This is the fifth novel like this I've read, and though the writing deserves five stars because it was excellent, the story was super depressing and even slightly disturbing. I played as a woman. Just...be prepared. You truly are playing a villain and that person does things that make no sense because you're disconnected from and not allowed to know her motives, even at the end. Except you suspect she's not entirely human or that she was experimented on at some place called the Farm, which might be run by the government or the "good" guys. That part was confusing, but probably on purpose. I was so frustrated that she attacked Ortega and that no matter how I directed her I couldn't change that, and confused about why she thinks he betrayed her and puts so much blame on him, justifying lying to and almost killing him while he clearly loves her. Probably I won't continue this to story 2, especially unless I know there's the option to understand her motives better and redeem her terrible decisions. There was no happy ending at all in the real sense. The character was happy, but it was because she'd chosen to hurt others. I couldn't relate to that to be honest, not without getting better clues about the why and if she truly has a righteous vendetta.
Stories like this and doomsday on demand are amazing, great world building and choices that actually make sense without being boring. Amazing
The variability of it all makes the game as good as it is; you can run the spectrum of villainy from light grey anti-villain to black as pitch, laughing and destroying, the telepathy is used really well, and it keeps the balance between self-inserting and telling a good story. I eagerly wait for the next installment.
This is the first "Choice of" game that I've enjoyed this much since the first Heroes Rise. I absolutely cannot wait for the sequels!
The story is really enticing! I really, really want to know where this will go. Waiting for the next game!
Been waiting for forever for this to come about... I really love all the characters so much.
Brilliant!!! Very good writing and characterization!!! Love to see the next installment!!! Is the author an INTJ btw? ♡♡♡
I like it i hope y'all continue the great work
Amazing game can't wait for part 2
Great!! Is there going to be a continuation for this?
It's, honestly, just really, really good.
Excellent
Very excellent game. It's different from Diabolical and a lot of villain games. The choices you make are a lot more realistic and mature but it still maintains its own charm as well. It wasn't too short or too long and there are lots of choices to make. Many of the characters are interesting and the world itself drew me in. My only real complaint is the slightly long exposition in the beginning. I understand its necessity, however expositions can still tire out readers.
I've been following this game for a while, and man now that it's out? It's still as amazing as it was the first time I played. Its as riveting as the old Choose-Your-Own-Adventure Books I used to read when young. I find myself pondering about the world, the MC's past, and more, even when not playing! I've bought it here and on Steam as gifts for my friends. Thank you!! I can't wait for Part 2!
It's the best one yet! I've been following all the super hero choice games since the beginning, and this one is my new favorite. You get to make hard, dark, delicious choices. I found myself laughing quite like a villain throughout my playthrough (I downloaded it today and I've already done two!) You'll want to go through it more than once, trust me on that. It's fun to aim for different achievements, of which there are many (60+, I believe). I loved being the villain for once. The choices are believable. The characters are likeable. The customization options are also pretty good. My only criticism is that it wasn't longer (or perhaps more love interests). Other than that, it was truly entertaining; great work! Part two, ASAP!
If you liked Hero's Rise, you will love this one. It has a very similar style, except it feels much darker. I really enjoyed creating my character and their puppet, as well as the conflicting emotions that keep you second guessing yourself the entire time. I absolutely cannot wait for the rest of the story.
I think I'm not wrong if I say this could be the perfect counterpart of Hero rise. Its been a while since I enjoyed a superhero related cog this much. The whole villany thing feels real, and you have an actual tragic backstory, so you are not just simply evil. I liked how well explained and intereting the MC powers are, and I like all the characters tbh.
This game is so good and intensly emotional and raw. You play a scarred loner that uses to be a 2nd rate superhero telepath, and soon you will be a villian. There are a million ways to get there. You may love the idea or you know you will regret it one day, but by the end of this story, you become that villian of your choosing.
The only thing I hate about this one is that I have to wait for the next one. Very few of these types of games really make your characters feel so distinctly yours, and yours definitely pulled it off.
One of the best stories ever published by Hosted Games. Other than the rare minor spelling mistakes it is very well written and the story constantly keeps you wanting to read more. The take on the villain aspect really brings put the evil within you, yet along the way you are fighting your inner demons and past on whether your decisions are correct or will you go down the road of destruction without looking back. A recommended read to readers new and old.
This is the first game that I feel compelled to rate. I have seen many stories from CoG and Hosted Games, but this one is on another level entirely with its writing. I can't praise this story enough.
I'm a bit split on this. I get that you have to be a villain, but it just sucks that you can't choose different path. And the relationship with Ortega is pretty f****** depressing.
One of the better written and fleshed out choice of game I've played. Everything is well thought out and your decisions do seem to have lasting impact, and it does a very good job of portraying the internal struggle that goes along with being a villain
The perfect villain story. With all of the angst, the heartbreak, and the love. I think I made a few of my brain cells cry with this. But it was worth it.
It is a very well written story, I especially love the characters and how the telepathy is being shown. I love how you are not this huge strong being out for destruction but rather that you are someone with flaws, someone who is being someone while being nobody Its a great game and I truly recommend it
Breath taking. Perfect length, great characters, and a riveting story. This isn't just a goofy villain story, it's a highlight of the CYOA genre. The author should be very proud, indeed!
Forced body image issues and gender confusion. I picked a male and I don't want my villain to be insecure about his body. I picked male. Thats it. Don't go making it sound like my character thinks he was forced to be or feels he needs to be. He just is. Make it a choice so people CAN have it but don't force these things on my character. It takes me out of the story and isn't relatable for many people. otherwise the story is enjoyable so far and I like it.

I haven't ran through so many playthroughs, each containing a single deviation of choice, since Choice of Robots. The author truly has a gift for portraying trauma and conflict from a second person narrative, provides more than enough room to develop numerous, unique MC personalities and whilst making romance easily accessible, still requires the reader to fully engage with all events to reach the desired outcome. Inclusion of 'Puppet' is inspired, and overall customisation options (though mostly artificial) are satisfactory. Well worth even thrice the price to download, please release the sequel soon!
