Frodo C64 for Android
TO ALL GALAXY S6 USERS LIKE ME. I HAVE FOUND THE MENU OPTION. HOLD THE BACK KEY DOWN AND THE MENU WILL POP UP ????
C64 at it's best...pity there has been no updates since 2014...would have been great to see this app also play C128 games and compatible with tape games instead of disc.
A shame about the keyboard. "Commodore 64 iPhone is based on Frodo." It whould of been great if the Commodore 64 iPhone was ported over to here in Android land. But oh well, we can only dream. We can only dream.
Too many issues with many games. The emulator version for Windows is excellent, no issues whatsoever. Need to fix all the problems and then I'll give it a 5.
Only had this for a day but absolutely loving it. I was looking to try out BASIC programming and lamenting the lack of space in my house for a C64, as I wanted to try it on 8 bit. I then read about emulators and decided to give this a try. I'm still getting to grips with it but it is excellent. I've already written a couple of pieces of code and no doubt will be writing many more. Keep up the good work!
It opens but thats as far as i can get. I cant find its folder in my directories either. A breif .readme would be nice. I cant see any buttons lower left, only joystick overlay or the keyboard. Whoever made this should go back to school
I have not been able to test this app due to an error pulling up what I am told are called the legacy menus on my s6 edge. This menu contains the load file, save and load state etc. Buttons. This means I can scarcely exit the main start-up screen of the c64 that likes to tell you how ready it is.
It is pretty good! Difficult at first, but really easy once you know what to do. Easy if you know the commands. or even how to make programs. Learning from this pretty slow. But it is decent as well. Welp...What else could i say ;) The only problem is once i SAVE my program, i cannot load it.
Loading disks is easy once you learn what to do. You can even load part 2 disks in game. On android, long hold the lower left button with the 2 rectangles. This will bring up the hidden menu. Navigate to "load disk", then navigate to where the .d64 file is. You can google .d64 games, and you should be able to find roms on line. My favorites are Beach Head, Raid on Bungeling Bay, Raid over Moscow, Impossible Mission, Lode Runner, EPYX Summer Games, Winter Games, and World Games.
Impossible to use in a Galaxy Note Pro since there is no physical menu button. Also, screen keyboard is rather useless too. It would be better to clone the layout of the original c64 keyboard (a photographic copy would be great!) and make it floating and semitransparent
I've used this app on my MotoG phone and it's great. It works fine. On my Samsung Tab A it installs perfectly well however there is no way to access the menu to load, save etc. On my motor G, the menu buttons are soft buttons. The Tab A has hard menu buttons meaning the frodo c64 menu button don't appear anywhere. Shame as it would have been fun to view on a bigger screen.
Doesnt work on a galaxy s6, you cant access the menus at all ! Would be decent if it worked though.

I upgraded my phone and Android took away the menu button. Now it is impossible to get to the menu to attach a disk image. Please fix my childhood nostalgia, pretty please with sugar on top.
It just sat there for an hour when I loaded Montezuma's Revenge or Zak McKracken. Then nothing . Black screen. No sound, no nothing. If you manually want to check the directory on the drive, it does not find anything. I WISH THIS APP WOULD WORK.
This was fab on my Samsung Galaxy S5 now I have the S7 it no longer allows me to load anything as the menu option is not compatible. Needs an update! When that happens will give it a five!
This has made my day...I can play football manager from my childhood days, doesn't get any better than this....Thank you.☺
Awesome app!! Only problem I've had is playing Little Computer People, can't use Control key with another key? Maybe I missed something? Otherwise great app thanks!!

My wife and I play old 8-bit games when we are waiting for food/beverages when we go out. It freezes occasionally, but it's great fun.
Try loading Scarabeus, the sound is all wrong. Try the same file on a Pc based emulator and the sound works fine. My phone Sony Xperia Z5 compact
I downloaded the rom, went into the file using the emulator but no joy any ideas anybody? Trying desperately to play my childhood favourite flimbo's quest
I finally figured it out and wow just to play lazy Jones again thank u frodo you rock Aaron 37 years young yeeeeeees!
S6, I can't load games, no menus, double rectangle button is for split screen, not supported.. Don't waste your time with this piece of junk
Normally love this app.but except for the 1st time now i cant get menu up on my samy s6.tried everything! Real shame
I've tried changing some of the settings and getting the games that don't work from multiple sources. No luck.
any of the screens from the menu (help, setings, etc) only flash up for a second and then the c64 start up screen comes back. Can't realy do much without being able to access files
With people having problems with keyboards, I suggest using a Bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo like a Rii - look on Amazon or eBay ($20-30). With the menu problem, long press the two dots on bottom left. ..Awesome emulator. .I could even write a loop program in basic. Remember where you download your roms so you can find them, man, brings back memories, awesome application
The disk autoload feature needs to be replaced with a disk drive emulator so disks can be properly swapped. Right now I can't find a way to manually switch out disks and type the commands myself, which means some games (Gold Box AD&D games in particular) are impossible to play since disk swapping can't be properly done. I don't need autoload since I know the commands (LOAD "*",8,1 is easy enough to find on Google if you didn't grow up with a C64). I need a way to eject and insert disks.
any attempt to access submenus and the screen flashes and returns to the UI. using the Google TV M808B with plenty of memory and ram. Would have loved to give it the 5 star treatment by getting to play my childhood faves, but it isn't a winner just yet.

Was trying to do some programming on her but it is missing a lot of keys. It needs a shift lock key and a clear/home key as well.
When you select to remap keys' neither the c64 nor tablet keyboard is visible' so it is impossible to remap any keys, eg- game Livingstone Supongo, fire button does not work.
Tried this with note 5 but all it does is attempt to split screen. Can't do much without access to a menu button.
Long press left soft key for menu.. learn something new every day!
Like, make it so we can play commodore games with a .zip file? Thank!
Since the android 5 bug is fixed it works great again! Just hold the switch apps button of your phone and the menu pops up! 5 stars!
Droid Razr Maxx. Since new update none of the menus work anymore. When you try to load a disk, it just goes back to the C= screen. Tried to uninstall and reinstall to no avail.
Developer needs to fix the horizontal keyboard mode!
