SXPD The Comicbook Game Hybrid for Android
Despite accepting my input mappings during the first launch and using my joystick for menus and comic pages, my controller doesn't respond in the action bits. I've emailed the devs regarding this and never saw a reply. For what it is worth, I'm trying to play this on a Shield Portable.
The black, white, and red color pallet is very reminiscent of the chaotic gem Mad World with well-integrated comic book-style cutscenes and story telling. The high-speed high-octane combat with the grungy yet appealing art style all supported by a slick frame rate takes home the medal in my book. No other game keeps you on the edge of your toilet seat quite like this
Finally something new, the art is very stylish and high quality, game is too short and basic, worth the money though, story could have been better, very cool game but the worst thing about it is you crash extremely easily instead of just scraping stiff, also it's really hard to see the debris so it makes you crash way too often
I never had a chance to play MAD WORLD and always desired to. But never could due to not owning a wii. But thanks to this graphic novel/manga art style of black and white images I dont have to buy Mad World to experience such a world. Thx to the devs for having the courage to follow up on such a bold look.
I like the style. The problem are those tiny comic pages. You must enable some kind of zoom.
How do you actually begin the tutorial then the game?, it just goes round and round, was looking forward to this.
It doesn't work
Stylish! Engaging storyline! Phenomenal artwork! Seamless gameplay! Challenging! A Fast Paced Masterpiece!
Pretty awesome game fun and easy to pick up I love the artstyle
Good

Very good blend of comic book and action. Only thing is the music while chasing on the bike is very repetitive and kinda annoying. Wish it would switch up to something easier on the ears. Overall this is one of the most creative and aesthetically pleasing game I've seen on any platform.
Let down by near impossible controls and general lack of satesfying gameplay. Such a shame, I really want to love this!

I like the look and combat seems OK so far but the controller mapping is pointless if I can't turn! Neither analog stick or d-pad do anything! Can't play on TV because of this! Please fix!
So far...
It's a really stellar game and the best of these particular series or platform. Keep making games like these, and I'll keep purchasing them!
Very unique. Very cool.
Slick, stylish and fun
Pretty awesome game fun and easy to pick up I love the artstyle
Is good
Coool....
No immersive mode
SXPD looks fantastic - almost like Akira meets Judge Dredd through the eyes of Frank Miller (although you can't zoom the comic and you'll struggle on smaller screens) but beyond the visuals it falls apart a bit. The writing in the comic is cliched enough to make you cringe and never really feels like there's a story building so the game sections should make a nice break. Unfortunately once you're past the initial wow factor of the first person section you'll realise there's nothing to it. Steer, shoot at a series of moving shapes you rarely see up close, repeat - hugely unrewarding. The controls are sharp and the speed is impressive, but the graphics pop-in means you can never be sure if the bike you're following is actually behind a building you're about to run straight into. I've witnessed bikes go straight through walls leaving me to drive into them, and on the third stage there are too many tight gaps surrounded by chain link fences that you can barely see until you hit them. After the game restarted me in the same position facing a wall multiple times leading to the loss of half my energy, I decided I didn't care enough about the story to carry on.
Superb combination of comic book and action gameplay. High difficulty during final race though.
Racing on a whole nother level
Never play anything like this before. great graphics and I like the game a lot. My new favorite
