About Badugi
Badugi is a poker-like game played with four-card hands. The dealer deals four cards to each player, one at a time face down. Then start the first round of betting. After the betting, each player can change none or any or all of his/her cards. Then start two more rounds of betting and card changing. After the last round of card changing, then the last round of betting and then all active players show their cards to decide who win the game and pot.
When comparing hands, within each hand all the cards must be different in suit and rank. If a player has more than one card of a suit, or two or more cards of matching rank, some cards must be eliminated to create a valid hand. The winning hand is:
Any hand with more valid cards.
Between hands with the same number of valid cards, compare the highest card. If they are equal , compare the next card. The hand with the lower top card wins.
If two hands have the same number of cards and the ranks of the cards are the same, the hands are equal. There is no ranking of suits.
