3d Sailing Simulator, 2sail, Latest added: Halyard for Android
I'm not really sure about the learning mechanics, but graphically and content wise, this app is poorly put together with maybe a couple hundred lines of code and a few half-asked 3D models. No actual stage to speak of, land, docks, actual water traffic. Expecting anyone to pay $25 for the app is absurd. Ten minutes in and you've pretty much done all you can do.
A pretty helpful simulation and the developer is often online and sailing around offering advice and tips.
I am a guy who bought a boat who had very little sailing experience. I saw this recommended by someone and thought it give it a try. After using the app to practice sailing theory, it became apparent that it is a very valuable tool for learning how to sail.
Don't buy this game it doesn't work.
No way of knowing course and never any boats to race. Don't know if the paid version is any better but I would never buy it from the demo absolute rubbish. Will have to go back to PC and Virtual Skipper 5.
Sure, the graphics aren't perfect, and there is a lot of work needed to be done, improvements to be made, which I expect will be done, soon, but as an accurate sailing Sim it does the job perfectly. This isn't for a big gamer, but it is a great accurate simulator as it is. Great job dev!
Very accurate sailing sim. It's good that the dev can coach you in real-time (or just chat lol) if you need it.
Have to login even to try it out. No thanks!
It's not a game. It's a true sim. I love it. The developer is a sailor IRL and will personally coach you if he is on.
Great way of sharpning skills need multihulls though
It isolates different aspects of sailing such as point of sail and trimming. It allows you to consider and practice those components in isolation and then put them together as you would in reality. It is surprisingly immersive and ideal for augmenting experience and drilling skills short of actually sailing. Reviewers complaining about graphics are completely missing the point of this.
This game is a really great game learn and practice several aspects of sailing, including sail trim, body position, wind direction, and so many other real life sailing scenarios. Super fun overall!!!
This is by far the most realistic sailing simulator ever made, not just for Android, but for the PC as well. It's a bit difficult to control on a touch screen, and maybe a bit too complex for anyone who doesn't know how to sail, but none of the many other sailing sims thus far come even close to it for its realism. The joystick controls make it much easier to navigate, so novices should begin there, then try out the advanced controls for a lesson in what real sailing is really about.
OMG that was freak in horrible
Very cheap
There are some minor issues, like text that goes off the screen, but the gameplay seems pretty decent. The problem is that it won't bring up the page to buy the full version.
Shockingly bad. Childish graphics, appalling physics and collision detection, awful controls, diagrams straight out of an eight year old's school project, buggy as heck and almost nothing is playable without paying, which you are endlessly nagged to do. Uninstalled. Edit: And a sarcastic developer who would rather make personal attacks on his users rather than take feedback on board, too. Wonder if he sails as badly as he codes? ;)

Finally a sailing app that doesn't try to be an arcade game. The physics are good and once you get use to it so is the interface. The app is still a work in progress, but it is already worth the money. Customer service is also quick and very helpful.
Great app. And the support is very helpfull.
I have been a avid sailor my whole life but I have been off the water due to injury and this is making me miss it a little less, thank you!!!!
Not sure why people are complaining about graphics.. What is implemented now works very well! This is a very well thought out simulator that I will spend a lot of time on. It helps me understand the relationship between wind speed and direction, and how to best accomplish the highest efficiency travel between two points. Good job guys!!

"Buy" button can't be pressed, android 5.0, SGS5.
Interesting sail trainer - I seem to have the same problems with it as I do on a real sailing dinghy, so it must be doing something right!! Some rough edges, but I understand a new version is being worked on. Excellent customer service from the developer, if you have any problems just ask them.
Worst game ever designed as a year 7/8 project i think
Fast customer service.
It's awesoeme
Crap
This sailing sim looks awful on my tablet — it's like a console game from the 1980s, and has a UI to match — but it works well, and does a good job teaching the sailing essentials, separately at first, and then in combination. This *is* the right sailing sim to download. Note that only a couple of lessons work without an in-app purchase, but it's enough to try it out. After the purchase you have to log in every time you start the sim, which is annoying, even though when it prefills your username and password. Five stars for a better, more standard Android UI and graphics that look like they were created in this millennium, but still, the fundamentals are all good. (Update: thanks for the reply. Slick graphics would be nice, but the physics are the important part, and you did a good job on that.)
I am a sailor but I can't work out the controls (do you swipe from the boat?)
OMG that was freak in horrible
Good game seems better than the others but it won't let me log in even after I registered
Loaded the trial and loved it. Bought the pro version and almost immediately had trouble logging in. They responded promptly, reset everything and threw in an unsolicited regatta upgrade! There are lots of layers to this game and I'm looking forward to digging into all the ways to use the deep control system to advantage.
As a sailor and an instructor in training, this is a great learning tool! This game is meticulous and is pretty great for being in early stage of development! I would recommend to people new to sailing and experienced sailor ($3 for an interactive manual, worth it)! Did i also mention the customer service is amazing?
Excellent customer service, responded to problems straight away!
Really good, nothing wrong with it, but with strong winds, perhaps a trapeze and spinnaker option? Make it even more real, but it is already excellent :D

Bad controls, really ruin this game. The learning aspect is interesting, but just nothing here for the advanced sailor looking for a fun Sim.

Amazingly accurate sailing simulation. Great game for people who enjoy sailing. Suggestions: 1. Maybe a more visible indication of wind direction, kind of like the darker patches of water that move from the wind direction(maybe small waves on the water)(edit)2.Add trapeze and cunningham and maybe foot straps.(edit)The race button does not work (it says I have no wifi). This used to be a game I really liked, fix this please.
