Robo-Ninja for Android
Im at the city upper level, with the star spikes maze. I used checkpoint in middair. Then i switched to slam from rockets, and died. When i respawn, i just go vertical, no matter what, even if i deleted the checkpoint. Since im at the air level, whenevet i respawn i just automatically fall down to the spikes at the level below. 5-hours+ wasted. all Bugs aside, i really love the game, well-thought up level designs.
Fun
Amazing
Great game
As the game advertises, this game brings the best of old school games together with modern tap-to-jump style games. If you like games like Wind Up Knight, you will probably love this one. The game manages to engage you in tough jumping, ducking, dashing sequences while not getting you stuck. Expect to die a lot. I've beaten the game twice now on easy and normal, dying over 700 times each run through, but it was so worth it. The game avoids the overplayed "three star" mechanic of breaking up difficult sequences with the "Metroid" mechanic of independent room exploration to find powerups. Best of all, there are no in-app purchases, so this game rewards you on skill and not on time or money.
Ok, let's get one thing out of the way first: this game is super hard. If you have anger problems a/o an expensive phone, do not download this game--I've never wanted to throw my phone across the room more than I did after I'd died the 80th time on the same stupid spot. Did you play The Impossible Game? It's like that. That said, it's just as addictive as is hard. The difficulty level is tough, but it's not stupid--the puzzles are clear but hard and there's always a new challenge coming up. Having a huge map to explore and go back and forth and around and around in, Metroid-style, is awesome. Every time I get a new ability, I end up thinking "Oh! that's what I need to get through that area that didn't make any sense!" and suddenly I'm sucked right back in! The graphics and animation are good, the gameplay and controls are perfect for a phone (no wonky attempts at a joystick here) and the limitations those controls impose are foundational to the game itself. Tl;dr, this is the most fun Really Difficult Game I've played on my phone.
What's better than a robot OR a ninja? This is a great game for anyone who enjoys a real challenge with retro style. And it's free to play! You will probably die a lot, but you'll keep coming back to land those jumps and reach the next level. There is a beginner mode as well if you prefer a more casual experience.
You want old school hard? You get old school hard. I loved this free running metroidvania type game. Expect to die a lot but that is half the fun.
Cool
Not so good
Fun and easy to play with a great control setup for touch screens. Finding the different modules kept my interest on the large, open map, and the teleport system keeps mundane travel to a minimum. It is difficult as stated, especially at first, so stick with it until finding a few modules.
