Commander Genius

Playing a PC game on a tablet doesn't have quite the same feel as the original, and takes some dexterity. This isn't from lack of effort on the app creators' part, tho. The game is fun and once you get used to it, it works. I was also able to use this with an external keyboard

This is amazing - but I can't get it running with my 8bitdo gamepad. All the buttons work except the direction pad. Maybe a bug or maybe I'm just missing something? Otherwise love it! Nostalgia galore

You did a good job on this and it is great. But oddly it randomly freezes. When it doesn't freeze this is pretty good. I would give a 5 star if it didn't freeze. Any plans on getting the other games on here? Thanks for what you ported! Good job!

Love commander keen! It would be totally awesome if you could reverse the controls so the arrows are the right hand and jump, pogo etc with the left. That's how I remember it from my childhood!

Commander Keene is my standard for fun platform games. Easy to use controls with a responsive character and solid physics means no unpleasant surprises and a game that only pushes your skill and not your luck. It's challenging enough on the first play through and the many higb difficulties variety of games in this app makes it my favorite mobile game.

My life is complete. Just one thing. I remember in the original game I could run along and switch to pogo stick and jump at the same time so you immediately get a high pogo jump from running. I'm struggling to do that with the on screen controls. Should it be possible?

Great DOS game put onto Android. At first, I didn't want to play it because it was so buggy. But I have seen improvement over the years. Now I'm back into it. Menu is better than the original Keen so you can save easier and faster. Bluetooth controller connection is absolutely stellar. I totally recommend a Bluetooth controller or Bluetooth keyboard over screen controls.

I used to play alot of Ms dos games as a kid and keen was my main platformer mid to late 90s this is awesome!Good job definitely nostalgic

Fantastic. Keen was the PC's Mario. It's great to see it preserved and restored in this way.

Please change the ap logo. Initially I.thought this was a bootleg version of the original so I almost didn't download and try this game.

I remember spending hours playing Commander Keen episodes, so I was very pleasantly surprised to find this app! There are an amazing amount of settings for personalizing the experience. I don't recall the music which plays in the background of levels, but the sound effects so far are dead-on. There is some issue with playing certain levels - no video, for one of them. As for battery drain, the app uses very little of my Galaxy S4 Mini's battery capacity.

I would give this 5 stars, but I can't seem to download any episodes in addition to 1 and 4 onto my Android. Whenever I try a percentage pops up and zooms quickly to 100, but then it returns to the home screen and still shows only Keens 1 and 4. Any tips to help this work?

Good if you like the Commander Keen series and want to play them while on transit.

From what I've tried of Keen 1, it's good. But I can't find anything describing how to install the various other Keen games. I get that I need to own them. That's not an issue. I just don't know where to put the files to get the app to read the games. Will gladly up the rating if I can figure this out. EDIT: I updated and now the app crashes any time I open it. I also tried to put the games where the readme said before I asked, and it still wouldn't show up in the game list.

I could only download 1 & 4 so I updated the game in hope of a fix. The latest version crashes as soon as it opens. Gutted :(

Amazing! Love it! My favorite computer game as a kid!

It works! I only had the shareware versions as a kid. Commander keen games were the first video games that I could get lost in. The maps, the enemies, I loved it all. It's great that I can finally play this on my cell.

One issue unsure how to get 6 and 9 to work can anyone help? bar them all others run mint!. If your a keen fan this is an absolute must

Commander Keen 1 and 4 took me back ro my college days. I had these on my first PC, with the 250 shareware games CD, back in 1995-2000. Thank you for making these into a great app!

I can only get episodes 1 and 4. Nothing else seems to work....
