Pachi for Android (Go Game) for Android
Excellent
Computer doesn't do life and death status correctly. Territory count is often wrong.
I like playing against this strong engine. However, to have maximal value for improving oneself it should ask if one wants to accept its resignation or not. It would be very helpful for training the end game. Also I would like to ask that after passing oneself there should be the "Undo" still possible for cases when one doesn't agree with Pachi's count. Thanks!
The program needs an ooening book or at least a way to specify a location of it. Pachi engine itself has an option for this so the change required is probably a minor ui tweak. Without opening book the engine plays in a very inhumane way, and the value is limited to casual entertainment. Also for bonus points the program needs: 1. updated version of the engine and 2. the abikity to download pattern files for the engine.
I lvove 7x7 game
This app is a strong bot with a nice clean interface (consistent with other Go apps by this developer). Takes longer to think about its moves than GNU Go. But that's probably not a surprise. Don't get it if you take being beaten too much to heart.
Now fixed for Android 5+! Very strong AI
This would be a great game, if you never wanted to play handicap games, or at least if you never wanted to re-think a move on one, and you never had a mis-click. Anytime you take back a move on a handicapped game, Pachi gives itself an extra move because it apparently forgets whose turn it was. Really ruins the chance to have it help a weaker player (low-level SDK or high level DDK) explore possibilities.
Just crashes on starting any game
Seems to play a couple of stones stronger than me(17k) at the lowest level, I enjoy playing this over the other AI's on Android.
The engine is a much better challenge than GnuGo - it would be great to see it fully integrated into ElyGo. But since I updated my Nexus 10 to Lollipop I get an error message and a crash every time I try to start a game...
Can't calculate territory correctly.
Why is it not allowed to let the computer think for longer than 0:30? Isn't it true that Pachi is dan level? Not at 30 seconds per move, though? Good job a55hats
Simple and clean interface. Pachi is too strong for me though, even in level 1. Weaker levels would be nice. Also nice would be the ability to play freely on the board (human vs. human).

This ai is infinitely better than any other available on android just now! Definitely a recommended download
Number One in all Go Board Games.

I enjoy a game or two with this guy every so often. Strong and enjoyable to play with.

Even though this was giving me a good run for my money, it was ruined by a mis-click on my part which I attempted to correct with the undo button. Unfortunately pachi decided to give itself another turn, or perhaps it simply forgot who's turn it was, but it made the game pointless to continue with from then on. I was playing a handicap game taking 5 stones at the time so I can't say if the same issue occurs in even games. Not much point in playing if this is likely to keep happening.
