About Visual Novel Reader
Play any visual novel that has been converted to VNDS or originally written in VNDS on your android!
I developed this as an alternative to VNDS Interpreter which no longer seems to be supported by its developer. It is compatible with the VNDS format and I also extended the script commands to provide additional functionality (VNDS++).
To play a visual novel, it needs to be converted for VNDS. If there is some visual novel you'd like a converter (that currently does not exist), feel free to email me and I will see what I can do.
Instructions:

1. Acquire legal copy of the visual novel you want to play
2. Find a converter that can convert it to VNDS
3. Put the visual novel converted to VNDS-format somewhere in your device storage (preferably internal storage)
4. Upon opening the app you will be prompted to select a visual novel directory. If you put it in your internal storage the app should be able to auto search for it, otherwise manually enter the path.
5. You should now be taken to lobby screen where you can choose which novel to read.
Functionality:
- Save. Create a checkpoint so you can continue where you left off.
- Load. Premium feature. This way you can try it out to see whether you like it or not before purchasing.
- Skip To Next Choice. Makes it easy to skip part of routes you have already read.
- Text History. In case you missed something.

So far so good. Very smooth app. The only issue I've run into is the selection box in the beginning of fate/stay night was blank but that might be a conversion error unrelated to this app. Never mind! Works perfectly now!

Works perfectly well, uses no battery and makes reading visual novels very convenient. The only gripe I have with this is there seems to be only 10 save slots, which is very few. Most games, even ones that have no choices have typically 100 save slots. However this isn't a big problem because of the "Skip to next choice" feature that allows you to get to the choice you want. But the app works flawlessly besides that, very helpful!

It is just as annoying as its cousin "VNDS Interpreter" with paid saving/loading (on software based on open source code! for shame!) but is also prone to crashing it's own video driver after ~20 minutes of continuous use and has issues with some how some VNs mark characters' names for dialogue, usually printing them on the outgoing line before replacing the name with what they are saying.

Hi, the app seems to work well enough but the sprites are often misplaced on the screen/offscreen completely (im playing Umineko). Is there a fix for this? Its pretty much the only thing holding me back from purchasing the full version..

This does a good job of presenting the converted stories, but it only remembers you've paid for the upgrade when you're connected to the Internet. It's kind of annoying to be unable to restore a save because you have no connection.

I was enjoying the app, playing ever17, but now I am stuck in a loop. It keeps saying error choices disabled! I bought the full purchase. Is this supposed to happen?

I like the concept of this app. So much that it's the first app that I've gone and bought. Just to support the dev. Later I found out that you NEED to buy to load games. But whatever. It's a nice incentive. HOWEVER. You need to connect to the Internet to verify that you've bought the app. If you shut the app down completely and are on a metro where there's no Internet access, then you CAN'T load your save file. Utterly disappointed. Never paying for an app again.

The only problem I've really had is that it crashes if you leave it in the background for too long. Since that forces you to save, you can't really switch apps ever unless you buy it. Not that I mind since I bought it, but still a little annoying.

I thought when I read your reddit post that this was a supposed to be a free app, so I'm confused to see that there's no load option in this version just like vnds, and whenever I press the "Buy full version" button the app just force closes.

The app is nice. However, there're some bugs and features suggestions: screen rotation does not work (it's uncheckable) and it'll be nice if there's an option to fix the number of line of the textbox.

It doesn't offer any more than VNDS Interpreter, except that the transitions are smoother. Why do we need an application that does the exact same thing? Also, I can't find the converters you have created (this digital haze website doesn't even exist), so I can only use the old converters, created by anonl

Very nice interpreter. Had a problem with the sprite positions but dev was nice enough to fix it (and very quickly I must say!). I'm looking forward to this app!

The app itself so far seems to work well. I don't even mind paying for save slots. However it seems that you can only have 10 save slots no matter what. I think this is a VERY big mistake when developing the app. Most visual novels have like 100 save spaces to use, and people like to use them a lot before choices in games. Giving us only 10 was not a good move. Because of that I can't rate this app very high, as it puts a choke hold on my enjoyment of any visual novels.
