Good game. Not too hard. Got a "Good End" on the second try. ** Spoiler alert: hint below*** Read diary immediately before escaping for "good end"... And Sally, try matching the picture on the side of the bookshelf to the arcana book. After that you'll get the number of spaces to move. Use the hint orange book (on the actual book shelf) as the STARTing point for EACH direction either ↑↓→ along with the number of spaces to land on the right colors. Good luck. :)
