ElyGo Pro (Go, Tsumego) for Android
Tsumego and Challenge are just awful. There are not enough problems and I haven't been able to find a single source of sgf problems that work with the app. I wasted my money.
An "Oh my god" moment! You cannot get the ai to play from saved games!! Will only recognise current game. .(...please, can't be true. ...check. ..check again.... Nope. Option does not exist). Also shame about only being able to play on 19 size board in igs online play mode... Only rated games too. Oh Well, some of us have better things to do ....and better places to play go. Disappointed. By the way, it seems the people who created this app don't care. No effort made to fix these humongous errors.
The main menu works in landscape, but the board (playing) doesn't..? Would expect this to be an easy thing to be supported - also a good feature, given the number of big phones / tablets people have these days!
I love this program! It is great during commuting to work or in my spare time :) The only comment that I have is that I can't save the games on my Nexus5X on SD. Can you make it so I can save the game on the phone storage?
I can't figure out how to import SGF files if I don't have an SD card. Emailed developer but got no response.
Great app for beginners
It took several years but Android now finally has a decent go app worth paying for.
If you're really into Go, you won't regret getting this app.
Overall this app is top notch. The main problem I have with it is that when you're recording a game it doesn't have any form of temporary auto-save or resume feature. This means that if you accidentally hit the back button, or want to use some other feature of the app and forget to save first, it will destroy your work in progress with no warning. Once this is fixed, my rating will definitely be a 5...
Really well designed and smooth app. I only wish changing branches when reviewing games would be easier than having to backtrack to the branch point move. Also how can we play on smaller boards on IGS?

Why is there no option to resign a game? Would rate higher if this was included.
Great Go program. Would get a 5 star if ability to edit was added
It would be nice if add some feature on invitation/recieve menu on igs.. editing would also more fun if there's something like markup letters etc... plus the date of database pro games...

I'm not sure that there's a better Go app out there for Android, and I enjoy playing on it, but ElyGo does have issues: a rather weak AI (the dev had published a free beta of a Pachi implementation, but that was never added here and the beta no longer works with Android 5.x), a lack of functionality around saved games (no cloud storage integration, issues with AI resumption and branching, lack of filtered search), shaky tablet support (no in-game landscape orientation), and a tendency to end games without auto-saving them if you switch apps. Buying it gets you a polished (portrait-orientation) interface and a nice game library, but as it's been over a year since the last update, I'm not optimistic that the aforementioned issues will be fixed...
This app is currently the only competitor of Smartgo on android. I use it with the go4go database (45506 recent pro games). It works, but it's far from being ideal. Among other things, I wish we could sort games by dates, have thumbnails for each game, have the possibility to automatically alternate colors in pattern search, and have a "guess the next move" option.

Probably the most well rounded go app I've used. The tsumego and pro game functions are awesome!

Like this app the most. Give it a try if you like GO.

Very nice app, clean interface, tsumego and offline review works great! I would wish for tsumego updates more often, after all once you played 'em through you know 'em all. Also, it would be nice if you could import multiple tsumego problems with one sgf file as they are normally provided like this by the big tsumego databases. Otherwise awesome app. Keep it up!
Beautiful interface and a solid app. The tsumego set is quite nice as well. However, the app makes it impossible for me to download SGF game records on my phone. It attempts to open the file in-app and fails because it doesn't support network files.
If you are a dedicated go player then you should pick this app up. Play against a computer, solve around 500 life and death problems OFFLINE, review more than 20,000 games OFFLINE, play against anyone online, or play in person on the same device by opening a review game to play it out on, but make sure to save your game and review it later!!!
Please add sound when replaying games for study. Cheers!
Best Android Go program
Please add an option of hiding the result of the game. Kills all excitement of watching a pro game when it's clearly written who wins!
...even though I run a funny droïd - thx for the "customer care"!
Worth the price.
Igs support is rudimentary, I was unable to return to my game after a connection drop. Free igs client is much better... Joseki dictionary is not fully supported as it does not show follow up moves. Do not understand the price. Sorry.
I've had this app for nearly six months, and I have to say that it is well worth the investment. I'm around a 14k on KGS, so I'm still pretty new, but with the tsumego, great AI, gorgeous UI, and IGS connectivity, you can't go wrong with a purchase here!
My IGS issues appear to be fixed lately. Would love in game chat on IGS and local, 2-player games. But as is this is the best app for Go that I've found. Thanks!
Want to have the lines labeled some how.
Excellent for learning.
Major bugs have been ironed out for me. Still some minor issues with loading game lists at times and connection issues are far far less frequent. Love it. Hope to see this app develop and add some convenience features like sound/vibration when stone is played and go to start of game button when observing. Also hope to see improvements to pro game database so you can browse without having to know player name or title ^^ Very strongly recommended for any go player
Would love to see more tablet optimisation, since tablet is much nicer to play on than phone. Also, why doesn't it support two player on one device?
I've used lots of different go apps on android and the others aren't bad but Elygo has been the best so far. iOS has Smart go but since its not going to be ported to android I've been searching for a replacement and Elygo has filled the void. It has some great features like 500+ tsumego problems, joseki dictionary, and easy to download database of pro games. If you haven't tried Elygo your missing out :-)

Works perfectly - never had it crash on my. There are hundreds of problems that excellently illustrate the basic concepts of go, the bot's strength is balanced right where it should be. It actually feels like I'm playing a teaching game. A terrific investment!
