徳川の治世が始まって、二十のとしを数えたころ。
大名・那須晴景さまは、日光街道にほど近い戦場跡「戦魔ヶ原」にひそむ魔物の群れが、東照宮の参拝者に害を及ぼすことを危惧しておられました。
このたび晴景さまの名のもとに、戦魔ヶ原の洞穴の討伐する者が募られました。見事使命を果たした者には、多大なる褒賞が出るとの由。
腕に覚えのあるあなた様、かの地を目指さぬ理由は――御座りませんな？

■一歩一歩を慎重に！　緊張感溢れるダンジョン探索
戦魔ヶ原の洞穴は魔物で溢れていますが、本当に恐ろしいのは「餓死」かもしれません……。
ダンジョン探索シーンではローグライクゲーム風のシステムを採用。自動生成されるフィールド上を徘徊する敵に接触すると、コマンド戦闘が開始されます。
移動、壁掘り等の行動をとるとFOOD値が減少し、適宜食料アイテムを手に入れて食べないとFOODがゼロになり、やがて衰弱して死んでしまいます。
一方、敵シンボルに向かってこちらから一歩踏み出すことで先制攻撃を行うことができます。基本は慎重に、時に大胆に歩を進めましょう。

■世代を重ね、要素を解放せよ！
ダンジョンで死亡した場合、キャラは復活できません！　経験値もお金も失われます。しかし、能力の一部や倉庫のアイテムは次世代の冒険者に引き継ぐことができます。
２００を超えるアイテム収集、寄付による街の発展や、雅龍神に供物をささげると新たな職業に転職できるようになる……などなど、様々な要素はとうてい１世代では遊びつくせないでしょう。死を恐れず、何度も世代を重ねて宿願成就を目指してください。
戦場ヶ原の歴史を刻むのは、あなた自身なのです。
