RPG DarkGate

It is actually good for an old game, but why you do not make it just free? I had played Machine Knight, Chronus arc and other kemco RPG's that are free and is a lot better than Dark Gate, but provably they are just newer versions. But still thanks kemco for making amazing classic style RPG's , I love it.

I gotta say its about the best game I have ever played, I grew up playing nes & snes rpgs this outdoes them all, I highly recommend this game.

The fast-paced battle system really keeps you on your toes, and the strengths and weaknesses of enemies encourage you to experiment with different skills. You can't play favorites with job classes, each one brings major benefits. Normally, In-App Purchases are unnecessary to beat a game, but in this one you may be hard-pressed to make use of them because most enemies will give you a really hard time from the start (like the Dark Grasshoppers mentioned by previous reviewers), plus most of the equipment in stores, even the weaker ones, are expensive for about the first half of the game. If you hate making IAPs, beware. Also, considering that every party member can master every job (save for gender-specific ones) and learn every skill and ability from them, I didn't really see much use in having more than 4 of them. And the Quests were too redundant, like every town had the same-sounding quests (i.e. "defeat x amount of these monsters; they have been causing problems lately" or "deliver this item to the soldier making his rounds in this dungeon").

Deeply flawed controls, little explanation of jobs, boring grinding and job points are flawed. $.99 was so too much

Dialog is a little cheesy but I believe that is due to translation. System is good for touch screen and I like the characters a lot. The tutorial is confusing but once you figure it out its cake.

Not much to say. Class system is interesting, battles were OK. Only real problem is there wasn't much to the characters or story.

Hint: buy kusanagi sword and berserker ring at mystery shop for total ownage on the game. You need this both to overcome even the hardest enemies including boss! Enjoy the game =)

Characters are way too small and bad controls - the character constantly stops moving while my thumb is on the pad.

Great game! Fun job system! Totally insane, head-scratchingly strange dialogue! Really, this one has a weird localization.

Kemco does it once again. Impressive game think the auto battle aka reverse turn base game play is interesting from standard RPG play. Although iap prices for dgp is a wee bit steep but amazing game nonetheless Keep them coming kemco

Waste of time. Thought it was really good until trying to get to eastern city where the monsters only cast sleep therefore you don't wake up you just stay asleep until ur very slowly killed. Waste of money

Like the game and job system, but having a hard time with enemy that cast sleep. How come we sleep though damage.

My new second favourite after Symphony! Whilst the battle/job/skill system was confusing at first, once I got used to it I now think it's the best so far :-)

First of all whoever said it took 9 hours to clear is full of it,there is no way he did all of the classes,all of the quests,the 100 level dungeons in 9 hours,let alone the multiple endings. My only complaints are no manual and the auto combat,I wish you could turn it off at times especially when stealing,things like whatever action is at the top of the skills(like defend,attack,steal,mug)is what the will do constantly without manually clicking them.

Then this is for you. I find the menus somewhat quirky (in particular the combat controls) but they are functional and work as advertised. For a modest IAP/DLC purchase one can get powerful items to simplify combat considerably (i like that option). Lots of jobs and skills, there is plenty to do, and one can save the game at any time. i was expecting it to have an unduly "stretched" look on my tablet, but it looks great on a 10" tablet screen.

So far what I have played it is a very good game. One thing that is going to take some time to get used to is that the characters attack on their own. You can choose special attacks, will just take time to get use to the battle layout. It is worth buying.

Ok its a pretty good so far though i have not figured out how to use the "holy bead" supposedly used for new jobs but dont know how it works. Sad :(

Please make this full screen. The black bars on the sides.....annoying. 5 stars for sure if full screen

So far this is just as fun as all of the other rpg's kemco has released. I love the touch movement like in SoE... it makes it possible to just relax and not have to constantly hold my device while I'm playing. I was disappointed to see the addition of in-game-purchases to the kemco line but at least they are not forced on the player in an obnoxious way...I don't think that is any reason to take away a star because the game is still a lot of fun to play. looks great on my Nexus 7

Evil grasshoppers keep my party sleep locked, but can't hurt me. Battle going on for fifteen minutes now and no side has done any damage. Can't exit the battle or return to title screen, requiring a FORCE CLOSE just to have it happen over again after reading my game. Poor design and logic.

While they have certainly automated the combat, the way you interact with it hasn't been adjusted to suit. As a result i found the combat very unweildly.

If you don't pay extra money you will be at a huge disadvantage only get this game if it is free.

Must give 5* to Kemco! Buyer Beware, though, this paid app has IAP integrated in to it. Pay-to-win model, but as the game is 1P, there is nothing wrong going about tipping them another dollar. The added "cheats" in Options are IAP only, it seems...

Love the game, love this style of RPG. I'm trying to get the 50 silver, is there a faster way than random battles at the end of the silver mine? Regarding mithral slugs, high crit weapons are another option.

I actually like this one a little better tahan some of the other games Kemco has offered. The job system is solid and the story is decent. Haven't finished yet, but I will soon enough.

I just beat the game in 9 hours and overall is was good but the story can be longer and the in app purchases suck but besides that fun game 4 stars ****

Love this game but there is no solution to lark snow woods I'm at level 59 and I can't get through it...

Gold was difficult to achieve at the first half of the game, the last half you ended up with way too much gold and nothing to spend it on! The jobs should have been exclusive to certain characters, not just gender. Level 99 was achieved about two thirds of the way through, and all the jobs were learned before that. I didn't get to enjoy the special jobs! Some of the dungeons towards the end were too long to complete and was a time waster because of the facts mentioned before. Needs more balance!

I wasn't gonna download any more RPG's, lol. Well I'm sure happy that i did! Dark Gate is so cool! The automated battle, job and skills systems are very exciting! Play this on 'normal' difficulty and you won't be disappointed! Well, what are you waiting for, download Dark Gate now!

This game is amazing to play! Lots of quests and so many ways to play the game. I will say the auto combat took a little to get used to but once you do you just blow through monsters because it is such a great combat system. Each fight feels unique due to this fight system and the fights move really fast. Game really draws you in.
