Space Invaders Infinity Gene

Update: for some reason, on marshmallow and beyond, when my phone is on vibrate or only alarms mode, no sound comes out. I'm starting to think that might be a feature.

I was seriously looking forward ro this game as I've played the Playstation version and it was fantastic but then after paying money and downloading it I find that there's no sound at all when I go to play??? It was a pretty quick joy kill there.

Seems the android version is short of levels and stuff to the iOS version plus no music mode? Still great but why do android users get less of a product to iOS?

You need more levels . played on the iPod years a go . loved the game still do just won't more to unlock . hope there's update coming for more levels comeing soon

I would rate 5 ★ if here was sound because I remember some pretty epic music in this game, please fix in the next update please!

It's a great game don't get me wrong, but it neither runs at 60FPS, has the levels after world 3 or let you make levels from your music like the iOS and PS3/360 version which is kinda disappointing. Be warned that there's an always online requirement, which FWIW is honestly kinda annoying and unnecessary in a single player game. If Taito patched that stuff in and got rid of the always online requirement I'd instantly bump this up to a 5/5 but as it stands the DRM stuff is too troubling to me.

While i can see a lot of effort was put into this game by the developers, if you are interested in true Space Invaders or Space Invaders Extreme type gameplay you will probably be disappointed like i was. I wish that Tatio would make an android version of Space Invaders Extreme. Unfortunatley, Infinity Gene costs five bucks and aside from the familiar space invaders alien graphics, it's a boring shooter. UPDATE: I keep getting errors saying "not licensed" Please refund my 4.99 as i cant even play the game!

It's short, and it kinda was laggy (maybe just the Nexus 5x), but it was pretty good for what it was. I wonder how hard it would be to integrate this supposed shift to 3d though. Makes me wonder...

Really nice to see taito produce a truly modern and updated version steeped in scrolling shooter lore. Full of atmosphere, awe and surprises. Would like to see a truly infinite mode using random generation. Also the touchscreen menu buttons are very glitchy on ascend y300, so dropped one star. Still amazing and well worth the money.

Great game if it works correctly, but since it hasn't been updated since 2013 there are issues with newer phones and OSs. The game has shrunk itself down to about 4.75" diagonal on the Nexus 6p, and has crashed many times on the Nexus 6p and Nexus 5.

I just purchased Space Invaders Infinity Gene for Android today. I live in North America, I use Android 5.0 on a RCA 7 Voyager II tablet. WARNING - The sound and music DO NOT work! Please update and fix this game soon. I give every game I review 5 stars even if I don't agree, because I feel it will help the developers more or something, and maybe it will improve. I suggest everyone that has reviewed a game to give it 5 stars regardless. Lastly, having to join Google+ just to place reviews is stupid.

A great game, its like Galaga and Space Invaiders mixed with Darwinism. Although if they ported in the original that would be awesome

I still remember the "infinite" sensation I got from this game when I played it on my ipod touch. Unfortunately, this version almost lacks everything from the original, specially the level generator. It only goes from 1 to 3 levels. I might as well go back to the ipod version instead of this android version. I really hope the price on this version is half the original one :S

Great game but its needs a sound bug fix. Had this game for ages but since the update my sound is gone. (Just for this game).

Terrible optimisation

Im not hearing any audio from the game. I checked everything. All other games work fine.

This game's got quite the pedigree - in addition to the original space invaders, taito also developed many well-loved shoot 'em ups like the Darius games, Metal Black, and RayForce/Layer Section/Galactic Attack. This history definitely shows in Infinity Gene - the game is packed full of delightful little throwbacks to their older works . likewise, it's a blast to play and Zuntata absolutely killed it on the soundtrack! Still waiting to see if this has the inter gray like it's iOS counterpart, though...

Infinity gene is a wonderful game. Its execution is an exercise in design evolution. Great soundtrack and presentation too!

The sound does not work. I am on a droid charge, if anyone has a solution, please tell.

Unlike the PS3/Xbox360 version of this game, the Android version does not shift from 2D to 3D graphics after the level 3 stages. In fact, Levels 4 and beyond are simply not included in the game, and are instead replaced by bonus 2D stages. This is a fun, stylish game, but the Android version is simply too short compared to the console versions and cuts out one of the coolest thing about the game, the transition from 2D to 3D. I would not have purchased this game on Android had I known in advance.
